Playing 100 or more matches in all three international cricket formats—Tests, ODIs, and T20Is is a rare achievement. Even legends like Sachin Tendulkar, who scored record-breaking runs in Tests and ODIs, don’t appear in this club because he played fewer than 100 T20Is.

Only a few players have reached this milestone, showing they have the fitness, skill, and consistency to succeed in every format over many years. Ross Taylor of New Zealand was the first to do it in 2020, and since then, a handful of cricketers from India, Australia, New Zealand, and Bangladesh have joined this elite group. This article looks at the top cricketers in the 100+ Matches Club across all formats and explores what sets them apart in the modern game.

1.Ross Taylor – New Zealand

    (Tests: 112 | ODIs: 236 | T20Is: 106)

Ross Taylor, a long-serving player for the New Zealand team, is the first international cricketer of all time to play 100 or more matches across all three formats. He is widely famous for his career-high of 290 in Tests in the longest form of the game, scoring 7,683 runs at an average of 44.67 with 19 centuries and 35 fifties.

Taylor scored 8,607 runs in ODIs, a rough average of 47.55, including 21 hundreds and 51 fifties, creating numerous middle-order salvage operations and run chases. He registered 1,954 runs in T20Is at an average of 26.05, delivering good service with a strike rate of more than 120. He did not make a T20I century, but with seven fifties and the ability to steady the innings, he was an important performer in all formats.

    2.Virat Kohli – India

      (Tests: 123 | ODIs: 311 | T20Is: 125)

Virat Kohli is one of the best batsmen of all time in the modern era due to his consistency in all formats. He scored an average of 9,230 runs, comprising 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries in Tests, which places him among the most dependable red-ball batsmen in India.

In ODIs, he accumulated a breathtaking 14,797 runs at an outstanding average of almost 58.7 in 54 centuries and 77 fifties, and became the all-time leader in ODI centuries in India, outstripping legendary records. Virat has become the fastest to hit 14,000 ODI runs in only 287 innings.

In T20 Internationals, he has scored more than 4,188 runs at an average of 48.7, including one century and 38 half-centuries. His overall international run tally has crossed 28,000, highlighting his consistency over a long career. He is also the leading player for 50-plus scores in ICC Men’s T20 World Cups, with 15 such innings.

      David Warner
Top Cricketers in the 100+ Matches Club Across All Formats 9

      3.David Warner – Australia

        (Tests: 112 | ODIs: 161 | T20Is: 110)

David Warner is one of Australia’s most aggressive opening batters and has produced several match-winning performances across formats. In Test cricket, he scored 8,786 runs at an average of 44.6, including 26 centuries and 36 half-centuries. His highest score of 335 not out remains one of the highest individual Test scores by an Australian.

In One Day Internationals, Warner made 6,932 runs at an average of 45.3, with 22 centuries and 33 half-centuries, often providing strong starts at the top of the order. In T20 Internationals, he scored 3,277 runs at an average of 33.4, including one century and 28 half-centuries, with a strike rate above 140.

Across all formats, Warner has scored more than 17,000 international runs and has been part of Australia’s World Cup-winning campaigns. In List A cricket, he has recorded nine scores of 150 or more, a joint record shared with Rohit Sharma.

        Tim Southee
Top Cricketers in the 100+ Matches Club Across All Formats 10

        4.Tim Southee – New Zealand

          (Tests: 107 | ODIs: 161 | T20Is: 126)

Tim Southee has been a key figure in New Zealand’s bowling attack and is the only specialist bowler to have played more than 100 matches across Tests, ODIs and T20 Internationals. In Test cricket, he has taken around 391 wickets at an average of about 30.3, including 15 five-wicket hauls, often delivering decisive spells for his team.

In One Day Internationals, Southee has claimed 221 wickets at an average of 33.7, while in T20 Internationals, he has taken 164 wickets at an average of approximately 22.4. His ability to adapt to different formats has made him effective with the new ball in Tests, at the death in ODIs, and in restrictive roles in T20Is.

Southee is also among a small group of bowlers to have taken more than one hat-trick in T20 international cricket, highlighting his impact in the shortest format

          Mushfiqur Rahim
Top Cricketers in the 100+ Matches Club Across All Formats 11

          5.Mushfiqur Rahim – Bangladesh

            (Tests: 100 | ODIs: 274 | T20Is: 102)

Mushfiqur Rahim is one of Bangladesh’s most experienced cricketers and the only player to successfully combine wicket-keeping with consistent batting across all formats. In Tests, he has scored over 6,510 runs at an average of around 38, including 13 centuries and 28 fifties, with a highest score of 219.

In One Day Internationals, Mushfiqur has accumulated about 7,795 runs at an average of 36.4, including nine centuries and 49 fifties. His fastest ODI century for Bangladesh came in just 60 balls. In T20 Internationals, he has scored 1,500 runs at an average of roughly 19.5, with six fifties, providing stability to Bangladesh’s batting lineup. Across formats, he has been a senior figure, contributing both with the bat and behind the stumps.

Future Stars of the 100+ Matches Club

While the 100+ matches club celebrates the endurance and skill of cricket’s most experienced players, attention is also turning to the next generation. Talented young cricketers like Shubman Gill, Devon Conway, and Babar Azam are showing the consistency and versatility needed to potentially join this elite group in the coming years.

As cricket schedules become more demanding and formats continue to evolve, these emerging players may one day join the elite 100+ Matches Club, challenge records, extend careers across all formats, and leave their mark on international cricket.
