[Revealed] Is This The First Instance of Heart Attack and Death in Cricket?
Readers might find it baffling that the cricket that died of a heart attack wasn’t the first case at all. In the year 2024 as well, a 35-year-old local player died due to cardiac arrest while playing a match at the Garware Stadium in Pune.
Imran Patel, the player from Pune, came to open the batting. He was regularly commenting on the chest and arm pain after spending some time scoring runs.
Umpires allowed the player Imran to rest in the pavilion, but while returning, Imran collapsed on the ground. Players rushed to provide him help and CPR, but Imran had already left the world.
Imran was a very healthy cricketer. He was an all-rounder for the side, doing the job well. For such a healthy cricketer to pass so easily is painful to the heart.
