9.Rashid Khan’s Tears Up After the Semifinal
2024 has been the year for Afghanistan cricket. They have done brilliantly with the ball and bat in the T20 world cup. Bilateral series were also great for the team. They did follow their performance of the 2023 ODI World Cup to the T20 World Cup beating Australia.
But the train stopped in the semifinal game against South Africa. They were beaten easily by 9 wickets and Rashid Khan could hardly control his tears as to what happened. The star spinner was seen getting emotional, a moment that also made everyone who witnessed it feel sentimental.
10.James Anderson Emotional Retirement
The greats of Test Cricket, James Anderson was forced to retire from Test Cricket by the England cricket team. Highly criticised, but Anderson said goodbye to the game in Lords against West Indies.
The game took place on 12th July, 2024 when Anderson hung up his boots. At the age of 41 and picking up 704 Test wickets, which is the highest amongst pace bowlers, Jimmy was invited to retire. His career spanned for 21 years as a fast bowler.
