Complete List of Cricket Stadiums in the USA: Location, Capacity and Key Details

Cricket has seen a rapid growth in the USA over the past few years. Once considered a niche pastime, cricket in America has evolved into a commercially serious endeavor. As a result, the USA currently boasts several major cricket stadiums that have successfully hosted the ICC Twenty20 World Cups and Major League Matches.

Currently, there are at least 34 cricket stadiums in the USA, including grounds, parks, etc., three of which have been certified by the International Cricket Council (ICC). 24 local cricket grounds are being used by Minor League Cricket teams. In addition, five more stadiums are currently being planned.

These stadiums are located all across the US, from California to Florida, Texas to Georgia, to name a few. This article will discuss how many cricket stadiums are in the United States, which ones they are, and what kind of events they host.

How Many Cricket Stadiums Are There in the USA?

In total, the USA has approximately 15-30 established venues that can be classified as stadiums or structured cricket grounds. However, only 5–6 venues are fully equipped for international or professional matches, with the rest supporting grassroots and domestic competitions. These stadiums can be grouped into three main types:

International Standard Grounds

There are 2-3 ICC-certified international grounds in the USA that can host ODIs and T20s. An international ground meets ICC requirements, which include broadcast infrastructure, hospitality facilities, and ICC certification. They are eligible to host official international matches.
These stadiums feature natural turf pitches, floodlights for day-night games, broadcast and media facilities, along with hospitality suites for spectators.

Professional/Franchise Grounds

There are 4-5 professional-standard venues built to Major League Cricket specifications. These grounds may not yet have ICC accreditation, but feature floodlights, natural or drop-in turf pitches, and seating for thousands of spectators.

Community or Local Grounds

There are 10–20+ grassroots cricket venues across the country, supporting recreational leagues, Minor League Cricket (MiLC), and local development programs. These grounds typically have prepared pitches or artificial turf, small clubhouses, and minimal spectator facilities.

1. Grand Prairie Stadium — Grand Prairie, Texas

Grand Prairie Stadium is the flagship venue of American cricket — the only fully converted, purpose-dedicated cricket stadium currently operating as a home ground in Major League Cricket. Grand Prairie Stadium was also a baseball and football ground, but has been a full-time cricket stadium since 2023.

Upon completion of development in spring 2023, Grand Prairie Stadium became the leading venue for cricket in the United States, featuring a premier High-Performance Center and serving as the base for the USA Cricket National team. The ground hosts the MLC playoffs each season and is where MLC has its headquarters.

2. Central Broward Regional Park — Lauderhill, Florida

Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida, is the only ICC-certified cricket stadium in North America and has been the country’s cricketing home for the longest period. Embedded within a wider multi-sport public park, the ground has hosted West Indies home games, bilateral T20Is, and ODIs for over a decade — primarily due to the large Caribbean diaspora in South Florida.

For the 2025 MLC season, Central Broward Park made its MLC debut, hosting nine matches. This brought the USA’s oldest international cricket venue into the professional franchise ecosystem for the first time.

3.  Church Street Park — Morrisville, North Carolina

Major League Cricket and the Town of Morrisville partnered on a multi-million-dollar investment in the expansion of Church Street Park, upgrading the facility into an international-quality cricket venue.

Church Street Park served as MLC’s secondary venue in its first two seasons (2023 and 2024) but did not feature in MLC 2025 as the league expanded to new markets. The ground remains active for domestic and developmental cricket, including Minor League Cricket (MiLC), and serves as an important hub for the growing cricket community in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina.

4.  Prairie View Cricket Complex — Prairie View, Texas

The Prairie View Cricket Complex is a group of six original cricket grounds (later expanded to 14) located in Prairie View, Texas. In January 2018, Houston developer David Wolff and Pakistani-American businessman Tanweer Ahmed jointly purchased 86 acres to build the complex, with construction beginning in March 2018.

This is not a stadium in the conventional spectator sense but a multi-ground training and league facility — the largest cricket complex in the United States by sheer number of pitches. The USA national team has played matches here, and it serves as a training base for the Houston cricket ecosystem. MLC announced plans for a $3 million renovation of the venue ahead of MLC and the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

5.  Smart Choice Moosa Stadium — Pearland, Texas

Moosa Stadium is the first privately owned cricket stadium in the United States, featuring five international-standard fields equipped with floodlights, a pavilion stand, dressing and shower rooms, practice pitches, and a capacity of 2,500 spectators.

In April 2022, USA Cricket announced that Moosa Stadium would become the second ODI-accredited venue in the country, following Central Broward Park. In 2022, it hosted 12 ODIs between the USA, Scotland, UAE, Nepal, and Oman as part of Cricket World Cup League Two — the first international cricket matches ever held in Texas at the time.

6.  Nassau County International Cricket Stadium — East Meadow, New York (Temporary, 2024)
   

The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is the first modular cricket stadium in the world, built for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in Eisenhower Park, approximately 48 kilometres east of Manhattan. The project started in January 2024 and was completed by May 2024.

It hosted eight T20 World Cup matches, most famously the India vs Pakistan group stage clash on June 9, 2024 — one of the most-watched cricket matches in history. The drop-in pitches were curated in Florida and transported by road to New York. Long-term plans include making the Nassau County site a permanent fixture for MLC and international games.

7.  Oakland Coliseum — Oakland, California (Cricket Configuration from 2025)

Oakland County Coliseum started hosting professional cricket in 2025, with the installation of drop-in pitches — the same ones used at the modular stadium in New York for the 2024 T20 World Cup — helping it become a major cricket facility on the USA’s West Coast.

Oakland Coliseum hosted nine MLC 2025 matches, including the season opener and San Francisco Unicorns’ home games. The venue is the former home of MLB’s Oakland Athletics and the NFL’s Oakland Raiders, repurposed with drop-in cricket pitches for the MLC season.

Which Is the Largest Cricket Stadium in the USA?

By raw seating capacity, the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium (34,000) holds the record, but it was a temporary structure and no longer exists. Among permanent or recurring venues, Central Broward Regional Park and Grand Prairie Stadium both expand to 20,000, followed by Oakland Coliseum at 12,000, Church Street Park at 3,500, and Moosa Stadium at 2,500.

For context, India’s Narendra Modi Stadium holds 132,000 and England’s Lord’s holds 30,000. Closing the permanent capacity gap is one of the primary infrastructure challenges MLC and USA Cricket are working to address over the next decade.

Newly Developed & Upcoming Cricket Stadiums in the USA

Of all the cricket markets currently building out infrastructure, the USA is moving fastest. Two forces are driving this — MLC’s ambition to grow into a ten-team league, and the ICC’s sustained financial commitment to North American cricket following the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Etihad Park, Nassau County (New York)

New York is getting a permanent cricket venue. Named Etihad Park after Etihad Airways signed a 20-year naming rights agreement on November 21, 2024, the stadium is designed specifically for cricket and has no connection to the NYCFC soccer project that shares the name. Planning is still ongoing, but the commercial framework is already in place — a direct outcome of the appetite generated by the 2024 World Cup matches held at the Nassau County temporary venue.

MLC West Coast Expansion

MLC has three West Coast sites in its development pipeline — San Jose in California, Redmond in Washington, and Orange County in California. Each venue is being planned for a capacity of 10,000 to 20,000, with a construction budget of around $30 million per ground. These are purpose-built cricket facilities, not conversions.

MLC’s $110 Million Infrastructure Commitment

In March 2022, ACE — the parent company behind MLC — put a number to its ambitions. The $110 million commitment covers eight venues in total, spanning both new construction and renovation. The sites included in that plan are Grand Prairie, Church Street Park, Moosa Stadium, Prairie View Cricket Complex, and the west coast locations outlined above.

Future Host Cities

USA Cricket CEO Iain Higgins has publicly named six priority markets for infrastructure investment — Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New Jersey, New York City, and San Francisco. The timeline on these is tied directly to MLC’s expansion from six to ten teams. Each new franchise will need a home ground, which means six of these cities are in line for dedicated cricket venues over the next several years.
