Bangladesh Dominates Thailand to Take a Big Step Toward World Cup
| Team | Score | Result |
| Bangladesh Women | 165/8 (20 overs) | Won by 39 runs |
| Thailand Women | 126/8 (20 overs) | Lost |
Bangladesh played Thailand in the Super Six stage of the Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in one of the most crucial matches. After being asked to bat, they recovered from an early wobble to post a competitive total.
Juairiya Ferdous anchored the innings with 56 off 45 balls, while Sobhana Mostary added a fluent 59 from 42 deliveries. Useful contributions from Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter helped maintain momentum, and late hitting from Nigar Sultana and Rabeya Khan pushed the total to 165/8. Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong and Onnicha Kamchomphu picked up three and two wickets respectively but could not prevent Bangladesh from setting a strong target.
In reply, Thailand struggled to build partnerships despite Natthakan Chantham’s 46 off 41 balls and a 30-run effort from Naruemol Chaiwai. Bangladesh’s bowlers kept tight control, with Marufa Akter claiming three wickets and Shorna Akter taking two. Thailand finished on 126/8, handing Bangladesh a comfortable 39-run win and a place at the World Cup.
The victory also kept Bangladesh unbeaten in the Super Six stage and confirmed their seventh consecutive appearance at the Women’s T20 World Cup.
