Rohit Sharma’s conversation with Star Sports is gaining millions of views on different social media platforms after he revealed the plan against Australia in the 2024 T20 World Cup, following their heartbreaking loss at the 2023 ODI World Cup on November 19, 2023.

Rohit admitted that they were in a mood to take revenge against the Aussies and stated, “Inhone hamaara 19 November kharaab kar diya (They ruined our 19 November).” Let’s learn what Rohit said regarding the revenge against the Aussies at the 2024 T20 WC.

[REPORT] India’s Emotional Build-Up to the 2024 T20 World Cup

November 19 will forever be an unforgettable day for Team India and for the country as a whole since it was the day when Rohit Sharma-led team suffered an embarrassing loss at the World Cup final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium, at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The loss was even more painful as the Men in Blue lost the only game after winning all 10 matches in a row. It seemed like the perfect time to claim the World Cup title.

In a recently released video clip by Star Sports, the captain of India in the ODI format, Rohit Sharma, addressed the famous game against Australia and highlighted the 2024 T20 World Cup against Australia as revenge.

He said, “We were angry, and this thing was in the back of everyone’s mind that the Australians ruined our November 19th. Not only ours, but the day was spoiled for the entire nation. This is when we thought that we should give a gift to them in the T20 World Cup.”

India and Australia met in the Super 8 match in a do-or-die situation, as both teams needed a win to qualify for the semi-finals. It was the time when Rohit Sharma and co. had only one thing in mind: revenge. He further added, “In the dressing room, we kept talking about it. You have these thoughts in your mind. But when you’re batting, you’re not thinking, “I want to knock them out of the tournament.”

As a result, Team India posted a total run of 205 in the loss of five wickets, with a major contribution of Sharma’s 92 runs, and won the match by 24 runs and stopped the Aussies from reaching the semis of the 2024 T20 World Cup.

[UPDATE] India Secures Consecutive Wins Under Rohit’s Leadership

Following the loss in the 2023 ODI World Cup, Rohit Sharma and co. were determined and focused on the coming 2024 T20 World Cup. Despite an excellent tournament run, Team India lost their only game, and unfortunately, it was the final, breaking the morale of the players in the team.

However, when India and Australia again met in the 2024 T20 World Cup in the Super 8, the Men in Blue dismantled the hopes of Australia as they won the game in a dominating fashion.

India scored 205 for 4 in 20 overs after batting first. They restricted Aussies to 181 for 7, taking revenge and sealing a semi-final spot.

The win against Australia turned out to be an important one, as the Men in Blue carried the momentum into the knockout stages and lifted the trophy, ending India’s 12-year-long wait for an ICC title.

Following the 2024 T20 World Cup win, India then went on to win the Champions Trophy earlier this February by beating New Zealand by four wickets, with a major contribution from Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and KL Rahul.

Amit Mishra’s Take on Team India’s Revenge Mindset

As a cricket enthusiast, India’s mindset of taking revenge against Australia for the 2023 ODI World Cup loss is lethal, as it was the day when Aussies broke the hearts of millions of Indians living across the world.

Rather than being down, India took it as motivation and performed incredibly well in the 2024 T20 World Cup and gave the taste of loss to the Australian team. This story of revenge and win is truly inspiring for every cricket team worldwide.
