Cricket Scotland have named a 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be held in England and Wales. Kathryn Bryce will captain the side for a second successive World Cup, continuing her leadership role as Scotland return to cricket’s biggest women’s T20 stage.
The squad was confirmed on Monday, May 11, 2026, and includes a mix of experience and emerging talent. Head coach Craig Wallace acknowledged the challenge of narrowing down a growing pool of players.
“It was hugely difficult to select a fifteen, but that’s a testament to the growth and success of the women’s game in Scotland over the last few years. The depth we have now to choose from is incredible, and every selection is enjoyable, but really tough,” Wallace said.
Kirstie Gordon’s Return Adds Firepower to Scotland’s Bowling
The standout selection is 28-year-old left-arm spinner Kirstie Gordon, who previously represented England in five T20 Internationals and one Test match. Gordon last played international cricket in 2019 and had not featured for Scotland since the 2017 NatWest T20 Cup. Her inclusion brings significant experience to Scotland’s bowling attack.
In the Women’s Hundred last season, Gordon picked up 11 wickets in eight matches for Trent Rockets at an economy rate of 7.71. In April 2026, she took eight wickets in five domestic One-Day Cup fixtures for The Blaze, arriving in strong form ahead of the tournament.
Wallace was direct about her value to the group. “We have multiple world-class players in this team, and Kirstie is definitely one of them. We welcome her involvement in the group and expect her to drive our standards up even more and help us to improve Scottish cricket.”

Scotland’s squad also reflects the strength coming through the age-group ranks. Three players from the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025 have been included โ pace bowler Maisie Maceira, all-rounder Gabriella Fontenla, and wicketkeeper-batter Pippa Sproul.
Maceira, who remains uncapped at the senior level, made a strong impression at the Under-19 tournament, including a five-wicket haul that earned her Player of the Match recognition. Their inclusion signals Scotland’s confidence in pushing younger players into major international competition.
Among those not selected are Hannah Rainey, Niamh Robertson-Jack, and Mollie Annie Parker. Robertson-Jack and Ellen Watson will, however, be part of a wider squad for a preparatory tri-series at home against Bangladesh and the Netherlands in Edinburgh โ Scotland’s first home fixtures since 2022.
