England’s Inning: Strong and Ruthless Hitting
England won the toss and elected to bat first on a pitch that offered true bounce and slowed slightly as the match progressed. Openers Phil Salt and Jos Buttler scored 28 and 3 runs, respectively, as their partnership did not last long; Jos Buttler got out in 2.1 overs of the inning inside the powerplay. After the openers were dismissed, Jacob Bethel and Tom Banton contributed little to the team score, scoring 23 and 30 runs, respectively. Italy’s Chase: A Challenging Fight
Chasing 202 was always difficult for Italy against England’s attacking bowling lineups. Openers Anthony Mosca and JJ Smuts got out for zero. While opener Justin Mosca scored 43 runs off 34 balls. Middle-order batsmen played a huge role in the competitive chase against England. Benjamin Manneti and Grant Stewart scored 60 and 45 runs, respectively.
Italy was very aggressive in the middle overs but could not withstand England’s aggressive bowling.
