Not only the hat trick, but Vaishnavi also took five wickets, which broke the back of Malaysian batting, which is the key. The game was a quick affair for the Indian team.
Vaishnavi Sharma Takes Hat Trick
Malaysia won the toss and decided to bat first to put some runs on the board. But hardly did the women know what was coming for them. India and Malaysia played against each other at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
Vaishnavi Sharma takes a hat trick, which included the wickets of Nur Ain Roslan, Nur Isma Daniel, and Siti Nazwah Alyazis. This beautiful hat trick from the spinner came in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th balls of the 13th over of the tournament.
With the spin and the guile, the 19-year-old left arm spinner claimed five wickets in the end. Interestingly, she took the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th wicket of the Malaysia women’s team single-handedly.

Poor Batting Display By Malaysia
Malaysia won the toss and was set to bat first. But their innings were in total disarray, right from the start. Not a single batter was able to get into the double-digit score, while the highest runs were conceded through extras.
There were 11 extras in the innings. A total of 14 overs and 3 balls were played, where Malaysia could manage to take only 31 runs. It was a very pathetic batting display with only 1 boundary being hit.
Outstanding Indian Women’s Team
As Malaysia folded out for not much, it was Indian bowlers who had a feast. Vaishnavi Sharma took a hat trick while Aayushi Shukla and VJ Joshitha had 3 and 1 wicket respectively.
The mere total of 32 runs was a walk in the park for the Indian team. Gongadi Trisha made 27 runs and India chased down the total in mere 17 balls, which was a massive win. Such a huge win could prove to be a morale-booster for India.
What’s Next For Both Teams?
India, who have won the first game against West Indies, and this one against Malaysia, will be flying higher. In the next game though, they will be up against familiar opposition, which is Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has good fast bowlers right from the start. Therefore, it will be important to see how the game pans out. India might even walk over Sri Lanka with their current form.
On the other end, Malaysia will be playing up against the West Indies, who have had an off campaign. They have lost 2 games and will be focusing on winning their first encounter.
Malaysia might not be too tough of a competition, but West Indies will be wary of the challenge that comes through. A good match will be on cards.
