World Cup trophy

Before any main tournament begins, small unofficial warm-up matches are held. For the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup, these warm-up matches give squads to test out their tactics, line-ups and build momentum.

These warm-up matches won’t affect the official stats. However, players’ performances help to analyze match strategy and possible future outcomes.

World Cup Warm-Up Schedule

The 2025 Women’s World Cup warm-up match schedules have already been released by the ICC. The first warm-up game will be played on September 25.

According to the reports, these matches will be played at home grounds, such as the CEG Ground. This setup gives players a chance to get used to the pitches and weather conditions. Teams from Asia, Oceania, and other cricketing nations will be using these games to adjust before the official Women’s World Cup begins.

Warm-up matches are useful not only for seeing how teams shape up, but also for examining women’s cricket World Cup stats in close contexts. These fixtures are very important to build momentum and confidence. So, teams can adapt to the tactics.

In 1973, the very first women’s cricket World Cup was held. In modern times, these matches are essential for preparations. Warm-up stats are often analyzed to review performances and to predict future outcomes.

Indian Key Players Watch (with Stats)

The strongest lineups are often started for the warm-up games. These matches will help in confidence and also reveal who’s in form before the tournament begins.

  • Smriti Mandhana from India is a player to watch out for in this World cup. With over 1,300 runs in ODIs for India Women and recently smashing a century against Australia, she will be in the spotlight. Her ability to give India fresh starts makes her dangerous.
  • On the bowling side for India, Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana have been pulling good performances in recent matches. Their spin will be key to winning, especially in subcontinental zones.
  • Emerging talent like Radha Yadav and N Sree Charani are new faces in India’s squad. They’ve shown a promising start in domestic cricket and could use these warm-ups to cement their spots in the final XI.

Fixture Times & Matches: Warm-Up Schedule

Here are some of the confirmed matches for the 2025 Women’s World Cup warm-up matches, along with their times and locations:

New Zealand Women vs India A Women

This is one of the first warm-ups, played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground, Bengaluru. It starts September 25, at 04:00 GMT, which is 9:30 AM local time in Bengaluru.

Bangladesh Women vs South Africa Women

This match will be played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This match also begins on September 25, at 09:30 GMT / 03:00 PM local Colombo time.

Sri Lanka Women vs Pakistan Women

This match will also take place in Colombo on September 25. This fixture is scheduled for 09:30 GMT, which is 3:00 PM in local time.

India Women vs England Women

This warm-up match will be at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground, Bengaluru venue, on September 25 at 09:30 GMT / 3:00 PM local time

Amit Mishra’s POV

The women’s World Cup warm-up matches are an opportunity for players and teams to peak at the right time. Performances from stars like Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, and others will be watched closely. At the same time, big teams like Australia, England, and South Africa will use these games to sharpen their balance.

These women’s cricket world cup warm-ups will also give fans an early glimpse of new emerging talent. These matches will add more spice before the main event.

The first women’s World Cup cricket held in 1973 laid the foundation for today’s tournament.

Therefore, the 2025 edition reminds us how far women’s cricket has come. Stats from these matches will not enter official records, but they will determine if players will perform when it matters the most.
