Born on 15th September 1998, Ashutosh Sharma comes from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. Ashutosh Sharma always wanted to be a cricketer. Sharma’s father, Ram Babu Sharma, was keen to make his son a brilliant cricketer.
For all of those reasons, Ashutosh Sharma left home and shifted to Indore for better facilities. With a lack of money, Ashutosh also did umpiring in local leagues to make ends meet. He came a long way in being a better cricketer.

One of the widely recognised names in the cricket fraternity at the moment is Ashutosh Sharma. For his match-winning efforts against Delhi Capitals, he has been lauded plenty of times.
In 2024, when Punjab Kings provided Ashutosh with an opportunity, he rose to the occasion. Ashutosh Sharma was picked for 20 lakhs.

Ashutosh Sharma wasn’t Picked for Ranji
After watching his heroics in both the 2024 and 2025 editions, fans might be confused as to why Ashutosh Sharma was not picked for the Ranji team.
Railways coach, Nikhil Doru, opened up, stating that selectors were against Sharma getting the debut in 2024. Doru, addressing the media, said that Ashutosh at one point in time wasn’t picked as selectors thought he didn’t know how to bat.
Controversy About Ashutosh and the Coach
In an interview for IPL 2024, Ashutosh stated that the new Madhya Pradesh coach wasn’t allowing him to be part of the team. Even after scoring plenty of runs in Mushtaq Ali and the trial game, the coach had massive favoritism going on.
This made things very tough for him. According to the news present in NDTV, Ashutosh almost went into depression as the reason for him being dropped was unclear.
