sachin tendulkar debut match

Any cricket batting record involves the great man, Sachin Tendulkar. One of the finest batters the cricket world has ever seen, Sachin is a star player and a World Cup winner.

Sachin has made more than 15000 test runs and more than 18000 ODI runs, which shows his class. Sachin is an all-format superstar who has played for 24 years.

Sachin Tendulkar’s Debut Match

Sachin Tendulkar played his first international Test match for India on November 15, 1989, in Karachi against Pakistan. At the time, he was just 16 years old, making him the youngest Indian to play Test cricket.

In that match, he scored 15 runs from 24 balls and hit two boundaries. He faced some of Pakistan’s best bowlers, like Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, and Waqar Younis, who was also playing his first match.

Even though it was a tough start against a strong team, Sachin showed signs of the great player he would become. That match was the beginning of a legendary career that made him one of the best batters in cricket history.

Sachin Tendulkar Batting Records

Sachin Tendulkar has some of the most amazing batting records in cricket history. He scored a total of 34,357 runs in 664 international matches across Tests, ODIs, and T20s. He is the only player in the world to score 100 international centuries, a record no one else has broken.

In Test cricket, he played 200 matches and made 15,921 runs with an average of 53.78, including 51 centuries and a highest score of 248 not out. In ODIs, he played 463 matches and scored 18,426 runs with an average of 44.83, including 49 centuries.

He was also the first player to score a double century (200*) in an ODI match. Sachin was the top scorer in two Cricket World Cups—523 runs in 1996 and 673 runs in 2003.

He is the only cricketer to score over 30,000 runs in international cricket and the first Indian to reach 50,000 runs in all forms of recognized cricket, including domestic matches. He also has records for scoring the most runs against several top teams and was the first to reach both 10,000 and 15,000 runs in Test cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar Bowling Records

Often underrated and less talked about, Sachin Tendulkar has more ODI wickets than any cricket fan could think of. His ability to bowl off-spin and leg-spin with a similar action made headlines.

Tendulkar has a total of 201 international wickets with the best figure of 5 wickets for 32 runs. In the case of ODI cricket, Sachin has 4 occasions of 4 4-wicket haul. Enough to say that he was a handy cricketer who could bowl some tight spin bowling.

Even though he wasn’t a regular bowler, his tight and bright bowling often broke key partnerships and helped control the game.

Sachin Tendulkar Retirement

Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement from Test cricket was a very emotional moment for cricket fans. He played his last Test match on November 14, 2013, in Mumbai, and it was his 200th Test match—something no other player had done before.

The match was against the West Indies, and even in his final innings, Sachin scored a half-century (74 runs). Since India didn’t need to bat again, this innings became his last. The match ended with India winning by an innings and 126 runs, which made his farewell even more special.

Sachin’s retirement was not just the end of a career but the end of an era in cricket. It was a beautiful moment for all his fans, as he gave a heartfelt speech thanking everyone for their support over the years.
