Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill returned from a muscle spasm injury to lead his team. He won the toss and chose to bat first. The Titans started aggressively as Sai Sudharsan hit a boundary on the very first ball of the match. Although Sudharsan was bowled out in the third over, the team did not slow down.
Jos Buttler joined Gill and immediately began attacking the Delhi bowlers. Notably, Buttler smashed Mukesh Kumar for three sixes and a four in a single over, totaling 23 runs. Buttler eventually scored 52 runs off 27 balls, which included five massive sixes.
Gill played a steady innings, reaching his 50 off 34 balls. Furthermore, he completed 2,500 IPL runs for the Gujarat Titans during this knock. He finally finished with 70 runs off 45 balls after being caught off the bowling of Lungi Ngidi. GT congratulated the skipper for his grand comeback after injury.
Washington Sundar achieved a personal milestone by scoring his first maiden IPL fifty. He hit 55 runs off 32 balls, helping push the score toward the 200-mark. Glenn Phillips added a quick 14 runs at the end to set a target of 211 for the hosts. Delhi’s bowlers struggled, although Mukesh Kumar managed to take two wickets for 55 runs.

KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka started with a strong partnership of 76 runs. Nissanka scored 41 runs off 24 balls before Prasidh Krishna took his wicket in the ninth over. Rashid Khan Triple Wickets
The game turned in Gujarat’s favor during the middle overs thanks to Rashid Khan. The Afghan leg-spinner took 3 wickets for only 17 runs in his four overs, with an economy rate of 4.25. He became the Player of the Match against DC. Indian Premier League shared a post about his comeback on their official X (@IPL) account.
Rashid Khan first bowled out Nitish Rana for 5 runs with the help of a great catch by Sai Sudharsan. On the very next ball, he bowled Sameer Rizvi for a golden duck with a perfect googly. Later, he also took the wicket of Delhi captain Axar Patel for 2 runs. These wickets broke Delhi’s momentum and forced the required run rate to climb.
Final Over Heartbreak for Delhi Capitals
Despite the wickets, David Miller played an exceptional inning. He faced intense pain after hurting his thumb during a dive but continued to hit powerful shots in the final overs of the match. In the nineteenth over, Delhi needed 13 runs to win.
Prasidh Krishna bowled the intense last over. Vipraj Nigam hit a four off the first ball but was caught by Shubman Gill on the second delivery. This brought Kuldeep Yadav to the crease. Kuldeep took a single on the third ball to put Miller on strike.
Miller then smashed a massive six over long-off, leaving Delhi needing only 2 runs from 2 balls. On the second-to-last ball, Miller hit the ball to deep square leg but refused to take a single. He wanted to finish the game himself rather than trust Kuldeep with the final strike.
On the final ball, Prasidh Krishna bowled a slower bouncer. Miller missed the pull shot completely. The batters tried to run for a bye to force a Super Over, but Jos Buttler gathered the ball quickly. Buttler threw the ball directly at the stumps, running out Kuldeep Yadav. Consequently, Gujarat Titans won the match by just one run.
