Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma stands at the top of the Orange Cap leaderboard after making 45 runs against Mumbai Indians. He now has a total of 425 runs this season, while his teammate Heinrich Klaasen stands in second place with 414 runs.
SRH chased down a target of 244 runs to win by six wickets on April 29 at the Wankhede Stadium. This is their fifth win in a row and their 100th victory in TATA IPL history.
Abhishek Sharma Reclaims the Top Spot
Abhishek Sharma made 45 runs off 24 balls against MI. He has 424 runs in just nine matches with a strike rate of 209.35 and a batting average of 53.14.
SRH bought the 26-year-old batter for Rs. 14 Crore during the auction. Recently, he became the fourth player to reach 2000 IPL runs for SRH, which includes stars like Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner.
Additionally, he has now hit nine career T20 centuries, which is the same number as Virat Kohli among Indian players. Abhishek also reached the milestone of hitting 350 sixes in all T20 cricket during this season.

Heinrich Klaasen Climbs to Second Place

Heinrich Klaasen scored an unbeaten 65 runs from 30 balls against MI. Consequently, Klaasen now has 414 runs in nine matches. He has a very high batting average of 59.14, which is the second-best among the top five run-scorers. His ability to hit the ball hard in the middle of the game has been a key reason for Hyderabad’s success this year.
During this season, the South African wicket-keeper reached a massive milestone in IPL history. He became the third-fastest player to hit 100 sixes in the league, reaching the mark in only 52 innings. Only Chris Gayle and Andre Russell reached this number faster. Klaasen was named the Player of the Match for his efforts on Wednesday night, as he also took two catches while fielding.
Match 41 Highlights: SRH vs MI Run Fest
Mumbai Indians set a massive target of 243 in 20 overs, losing 5 wickets. Ryan Rickelton scored an exceptional 123 runs off 55 balls. He smashed 10 boundaries and 8 sixes, which became the fastest century scored by an MI player.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad reached a total of 249/4 in just 18.4 overs to win the match. This was the fourth-highest successful chase in the history of the Indian Premier League. Along with Abhishek and Klaasen, Travis Head scored 76 runs from 30 balls. The pair of Abhishek and Travis Head, often called “Travishek” by fans, shared a 129-run opening partnership.

Mumbai Indians Bowling Struggles
Mumbai’s star bowler Jasprit Bumrah did not take any wickets and gave away 54 runs in his four overs. Usually, Bumrah is the best bowler for his team, but the SRH batters were too strong during this match.
Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai captain, admitted after the game that his team needs to play much better to please their loyal fans. Currently, Mumbai Indians are in ninth place on the points table with only two wins from eight matches. They must win at least five of their remaining six games to have any chance of reaching the playoffs.

While the Hyderabad duo is in the lead, other batters are close behind. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals is now in third place with 400 runs. He was the first player to reach 400 runs this season and has the highest strike rate among the leaders at 238.09.
KL Rahul of the Delhi Capitals and Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru are also in the top five. Rahul has 358 runs, while Kohli has 351 runs. Notably, during this season, Virat Kohli became the first player in history to reach 9,000 career runs in the IPL.
