The left-handed dasher from Sunrisers Hyderabad has set a unique record. In the recent match against RCB, Ishan Kishan’s record was achieved in 10 years.
The form of Ishan was also a question, with only one century and no scores in the middle. But the batting masterclass in the game against RCB was something different.
Ishan Kishan Unique Record
Kishan set a record of winning two man-of-the-match awards in a single season. Kishan won his second Player of the Match award against RCB in Match 65 of this season. His first award came in the very opening match against Rajasthan Royals.
Furthermore, his record comes first in his 10-year-long IPL career. Kishan played for the Mumbai Indians majorly but hardly won 2 man of the match awards in a single season.
Ishan Kishan Scores Big Against RCB
As SRH had been knocked out of the tournament, they played freely and won the game against RCB. In a tacky pitch in Jaipur, Ishan Kishan came into bat after the first wicket and batted through the innings.
His innings of 94 runs from 48 balls was explosive with the help of 7 fours and 5 sixes. It was his masterclass batting that pushed the total to 231 runs which was one too many for RCB to score.
RCB Crumble In The Chase
As the total of 232 was massive, RCB initially started well with the chase. The crucial partnership between Salt and Kohli was laying the foundation, but the fall of Kohli’s wicket meant that the door would be closed quickly.
From a strong position, RCB were blown away. Salt made 62 while Kohli 43 but others had little to no contribution.
A long gap between the matches would have been the reason for their loss. But RCB will have to turn around quickly to finish in top 2.
Top Of The Table Battle
Even though SRH has been knocked out of the IPL 2025, their recent performance surely hurt RCB’s position in the IPL table. Having said that, they will be keen to make an impact even in their last match.
The top 4 qualified teams are assured, but the actual battle remains with who will finish in the top 2. This means that they will get two bites of the cherry.
As Gujarat Titans, RCB and Punjab Kings all have lost their last matches, it will be key to see how they fare in their last match of the tournament.
