Lucknow Super Giants have officially unveiled a new logo ahead of IPL 2026, ending months of speculation that began when fans noticed the old emblem quietly disappearing from the team’s social media profiles, website headers, and promotional visuals in early 2026.
LSG leaned into the mystery. Their official account posted a cryptic video asking, “Achanak se logo kahan chala gaya humaara?” — loosely translated as “Where did our logo suddenly go?” — deliberately stoking curiosity before the reveal. It was a well-executed tease, and it worked.
What Has Changed
The original 2022 logo had stylised wings, a bat element, and a blue-orange colour scheme. The new one keeps the wing structure but places an elephant face at the centre — a direct nod to Uttar Pradesh’s cultural identity. Sharper, bolder, and more grounded in where the franchise actually comes from.
The three symbols doing the heavy lifting are Garuda, the Crown, and the Elephant. Garuda is about courage — the aggressive, take-no-prisoners cricket LSG want to be known for. The Crown is about responsibility, the weight of representing a city and its fans every time you walk out to play. The Elephant, now sitting right at the heart of the logo, stands for strength and loyalty — qualities the fanbase has shown LSG even through the rough patches.

The franchise has described it as a “new era, new energy, and new beginning.” Given where they finished last season, that framing is as much about motivation as it is about marketing.
A Franchise That Needs a Turnaround
LSG finished seventh in IPL 2025 with six wins and eight losses under Rishabh Pant‘s captaincy. It was a frustrating campaign for a squad that had genuine quality on paper. Pant returns to lead the side again in 2026, this time alongside coach Justin Langer, and the rebrand has been positioned as a clean break from that underperformance.
Shashwat Goenka, owner of LSG and Vice Chairman of RPSG Group, was direct about what the new identity means. He called it a promise — to honour the city, respect the franchise’s roots, and compete with more heart than last season delivered

The Squad for IPL 2026
The core is largely intact. Pant leads a side that includes Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, Mohammed Shami, Mayank Yadav, and Avesh Khan. Arjun Tendulkar and Digvesh Rathi are also part of the setup, alongside auction additions Josh Inglis (₹8.5 crore), Mukul Choudhary (₹2.6 crore), Akshat Raghuwanshi (₹2.2 crore), and both Wanindu Hasaranga and Anrich Nortje at ₹2 crore each.
