Well, it all began shortly after the IPL 2025 season concluded.
In the entire season, he appeared in a total of 13 matches as a batter and bowled 5 overs. Reportedly, he batted between No.5 and No.7 positions, with the majority of the matches coming at No.6 or No.7, which dramatically saw a reduction in his output with the bat.

That very season, he won the Emerging Player of the Year award, following his impressive innings, a dominant half-century against the Punjab Kings and the Rajasthan Royals.
