In a dramatic last-ball finish, Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Mumbai Indians by two wickets at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on May 10, 2026. This has put RCB at the top of the IPL 2026 table and knocked out the Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants out of playoff contention.
RCB chased down a target of 167, finishing on 167 for 8. The finish was as tight as it gets. Rasikh Salam clipped the final ball of the match towards bowler Raj Bawa, who fumbled the chance. The ball trickled into the mid-on area, and Rasikh dived to complete the second run just as the throw broke the stumps at the keeper’s end.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar Dismantles MI Top Order with Swing and Craft
Mumbai Indians were put in to bat and had a rough start. Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck in his very first over, getting Ryan Rickelton caught at mid-off for just 2. He then produced one of the great balls of the tournament: a knuckle-ball outswinger that drew a thick edge off Rohit Sharma, who had made 22 off 10 balls, followed immediately by a traditional good-length delivery that found late swing to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav for a golden duck. MI were 28 for 3 inside three overs.
Bhuvneshwar returned in the death overs to remove Tilak Varma for 57, ending one of the more dangerous batting partnerships of the innings. He finished with figures of 4 for 23, the best bowling performance of the match, and was named Player of the Match.

Tilak and Dhir Rebuild, But MI Fall Short Despite Competitive Total
Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma steadied MI’s innings with an 82-run fourth-wicket partnership. Dhir made 47, and Tilak contributed 57, both showing the kind of patience the pitch demanded. However, once both were dismissed in the latter overs, MI’s innings slowed considerably. They scored only 11 runs in the final two overs, setting a target of 167 β competitive, but not beyond RCB’s reach given conditions.
Corbin Bosch was MI’s standout bowler in reply, taking 4 for 26. Deepak Chahar dismissed both Virat Kohli β golden duck β and Devdutt Padikkal early, reducing RCB to 39 for 3 inside the powerplay.
Krunal Pandya’s Gutsy 73 Keeps RCB in the Chase Despite Cramp

With RCB in trouble at 39 for 3, Krunal Pandya came in at No. 5 and took full control. He scored 73 off 46 balls, hitting four fours and five sixes. His handling of spin was key; he used his reach effectively against anything tossed up, and targeted Bawa’s medium pace whenever it appeared. He was visibly cramping in the final overs but still managed two sixes in the 18th over before being dismissed at long-on for 73.
Jitesh Sharma chipped in with 18 off 12, including a hooked six off Bosch. But it was Bhuvneshwar who sealed the game from No. 10, hitting Bawa for a six over cover with nine needed from three balls, his first IPL six since 2016. Rasikh Salam then completed the job on the last delivery to send Raipur into celebration.
RCB’s next match is against the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 13 in Raipur.
