In the ongoing Australia A tour of India, India A is keeping the chase alive following the collective efforts from the bowlers and the batters on Day 3. Wrapping Australia Aβs innings in 185 runs, the bowlers Gurnoor Brar and Manav Suthar led from the front, picking up three wickets each. On the other hand, the opener batter, KL Rahul, and number three batsman, Sai Sudharsan, batted sensibly, closing the target gap of 411 runs.
At the end of Day 3 stumps, India A required 243 runs, having eight wickets in hand.
India Aβs Dominance on Day 3
Happening atΒ Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, Australia A tour of India A is getting interesting as the day progresses, with both teams displaying dominance in their respective innings. A lot of things happened on Day 3, especially when Australia A were batting, leading the match by 242 runs.
However, their batters did not manage to find the momentum after their openers, Sam Konstas and Campbell Kellaway, failed to put runs on the scoreboard. But soon after, the skipper, McSweeney, led from the front and scored 85 runs off 149 balls, along with the middle-order batter Philippe, who smashed much-needed 50 runs off 48 balls.

Australia Aβs batsmen were dominated throughout the innings by the Indian Aβs bowlers. Siraj and Brar initiated the rhythm, allowing other bowlers, Manav and Yash Thakur to pick wickets in the crucial moments. As a result, in 46.5 overs, Australia Aβs innings concluded in 185 runs, giving the massive target of 412 runs.
Despite having such a massive target on the board, India Aβs openers batted sensibly, showing true composure on the field. N Jagadeesan and KL Rahul started the innings with much-needed runs, as they added 85 runs without the loss of a wicket. During 17.1 overs of the innings, Jagadeesan was dismissed on 36 runs off 55 balls by T Murphy.
However, KL Rahul kept smashing runs, along with the number three batsman Sai Sudharsan. KL Rahul struck nine boundaries in his 92-ball innings before retiring hurt on 74. Following the exit of KL Rahul via retired hurt, Devdutt Padikkal came to bat, but his innings ended in just 5 runs when he was dismissed by T Murphy. On the other end, Sai Sudharsan is batting on 44 runs off 84 balls, and is expected to bat further on Day 4.
Currently, India A has a score of 169 runs with the loss of two wickets in 41 overs and still needs 243 runs to win the game.

Amit Mishraβs Take
It is exciting for cricket fans like me to see the different dynamics of the game in the ongoing Australia A tour of India A. Coming into Day 4 of the game, both teams have displayed dominance over one another, especially India A in the second innings with both bat and bowl. Dismissed after 194 runs in the first innings, they held their nerves in the second innings and bowled exceptionally well, wrapping Australia Aβs innings in just 185 runs.
With 243 runs still needed to be chased, India A must not forget to approach the match with composure. They still have top-notch batters like Sai Sudharsan, Manav Suthar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Dhruv Jurel, Ayush Badoni, and KL Rahul on the line, who can certainly contribute in the chase. I look forward to seeing what will happen on Day 4 of the second unofficial test between Australia A and India A.
