“This is not our home; this is Dubai. We don’t play many matches here, and it is new for us too,” he said.
He also said that every pitch India has played behaved differently, forcing a team to adjust in every game. He also pointed out how the ball was swinging for New Zealand bowlers in the match, but previous games had different conditions.
Similarly, spin conditions in Dubai also change from match to match, so India cannot rely on a fixed pattern.

Unknown Pitch: What to Expect for the Semi-Final?
India will face Australia in Champions Trophy 2025 semi final on an unknown pitch. According to some reports, the match will take place in a new pitch that has not been used in the tournament yet. India has played in three different pitches with different conditions so far.

Rohit highlighted the importance of adaptation. “It was important for us to adjust quickly. The training pitches were similar to the ones we played on, and we adapted well in all three group-stage games,” he explained. India enters the semifinal unbeaten, having defeated Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand.

It is never easy to play against an opponent like Australia in knockout matches. India and Australia have a long history of major ICC tournaments, with Australia winning the last two knockout matches, the 2023 World Test Championship final and the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
“Australia is a great team. We expect a fight back and some tense moments. It’s a semifinal, and pressure will be on both teams,” Rohit said.
Both teams will step onto an unknown pitch, making the semifinal even more unpredictable. India is looking to continue its winning streak, while Australia wants to break India’s winning streak to reach the final of the Champions Trophy 2025.
