Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by four wickets in the third T20I in Bulawayo on July 19, sealing the three-match series 2-1 after trailing 1-0. Tanzid Hasan top-scored with 66 not out off 58 balls, guiding the chase of 144 with two balls to spare.
Dion Myers had earlier top-scored for Zimbabwe with 73, but his run out in the final over of the innings halted the hosts short of a stronger total. The result also marked Sikandar Raza’s landmark 314th international appearance for Zimbabwe, a record he could not celebrate with a win.
Tanzid Hasan Anchors Successful Chase
Opening the batting, Tanzid Hasan dealt with the new-ball threat from Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani before accelerating through the middle overs. He struck Ngarava for six early in his innings and reached his half-century off 45 balls.
Tanzid added a 50-plus stand with Parvez Hossain Emon, who made 24, and then combined with captain Towhid Hridoy for a 63-run partnership. Hridoy contributed 24 off 19 balls before he was caught and bowled by Raza.
Tanzid finished unbeaten, striking four sixes and one four, and was named Player of the Match as well as Player of the Series. The innings took his fifty-plus T20I scores tally level with Shakib Al Hasan for the second-most by a Bangladesh batter in the format.
Myers’ Fifty Puts Zimbabwe Ahead Before Late Collapse
Zimbabwe were sent in to bat first and built their innings around a 71-run second-wicket stand between Brian Bennett and Dion Myers. Bennett scored 47 off 38 balls before he was bowled by Mohammad Saifuddin.
Myers, who had managed just one score above 44 in his previous 12 T20I innings, struck seven fours and two sixes on his way to 73 off 53 balls, his third T20I half-century. He rotated strike consistently through the middle overs but was run out attempting a second run in the final over.
Zimbabwe lost four wickets for 25 runs in the last four overs, with only Milton Shumba and Tinotenda Maposa finishing unbeaten as the innings closed on 143 for 7.

Bangladesh Bowlers and Late Drama Seal the Win
Bangladesh’s seam attack restricted Zimbabwe after their innings threatened to accelerate past 160. Mohammad Saifuddin took 2 for 35, dismissing Brad Evans and Clive Madande in consecutive deliveries during his final over.
Taskin Ahmed conceded just 16 runs across his four overs and bowled a tight final over of the Zimbabwe innings, conceding only five runs as Myers fell attempting a risky second run. In the chase, the finish proved tense.
Evans dismissed Mosaddek Hossain and Saifuddin in the final over, and Bangladesh appeared briefly under pressure before a boundary from Mahedi Hasan sealed victory with two balls remaining.
A contentious moment arose when Evans believed he had trapped Mahedi lbw, only for umpire Forster Mutizwa to have already signalled dead ball.
Bangladesh’s win completed their first T20I series victory of 2026, though Zimbabwe had earlier won the one-off Test and taken the ODI series 2-1 during the tour.
