Wickets Crash After Sudharsan’s Composed 75 on Day 2; India A vs Australia A

The second unofficial test match of India A vs Australia A has taken an interesting turn as Australia A is leading with a massive lead coming into Day 3. India batted sensibly on Day 2 after receiving the target of 420 runs. Their top order batters were batting well, especially Sai Sudharsan, who approached the innings with his calm mindset. However, his playful innings of 75 runs were not enough as the middle order and lower order batsmen failed to score runs, having the innings wrapped at 194 runs.

India A’s Collapsed Batting Order on India A vs Australia A

In the ongoing second unofficial test match in Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, between India A vs Australia A, Australia A dominated India A from every department for the entire two days of the match. Australia A’s innings was wrapped in 420 runs on the second day after a dominant batting by the batsmen like Sam Kontas, McSweeney, Jack Edwards, and T Murphy.

India A was under pressure from the very first ball of the innings as their opening batsman, KL Rahul, was dismissed in just 11 runs, leaving India in a very crucial state. N Jagadeesan and Sai Sudharsan held their nerve and built the much-needed partnership. However, N Jagadeesan got dismissed for 38 runs in 12.5 overs. From that onwards, it was just Sai Sudharsan and the collapsed batting unit of India A.

Sai Sudharsan at No. 3 did not go unrecognized as he fought hard to give his team some sort of respect through a fighting 75, but Henry Thornton took 4/36 to ensure that his team is well ahead as well.

India was reeling at 75/5 in 22 overs before Sudharsan anchored because of three initial blows by Thornton. He completed a 51-run partnership with Ayush Badoni to get the home team to the triple-digit mark. But two more lightning wickets once again set India A back, along with Prasidh Krishna, who went back with a broken finger after contributing with a handy 16. The ninth to leave was Sudharsan by LBW on Todd Murphy, leaving India badly in the red.

Following Sai Sudharsan’s wicket in 52.3 overs, Australia A continued the rhythm and packed India A’s innings in 194 runs. Australia A scored 16 runs, but lost the quick three wickets within 7.5 overs. Currently, Australia A is batting in the first session of Day 3, leading the game with 323 runs, with the skipper McSweeney scoring 41 runs. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj is proving to be a key bowler since he has already registered 2 wickets in just 9 overs.

Amit Mishra’s Perspective on India A vs Australia A

As a writer and a cricket follower, India A vs Australia A has almost learned towards the Aussie side since they are not taking charge with the lead of 323 runs on Day 3. India A’s batting unit did not contribute much to the score, except Sai Sudharsan, who played sensible cricket, scoring 75 runs off 140 balls. Other than that, the batting unit crumbled down to the knees with India A’s innings being wrapped up in just 194 runs.

On the other hand, Australia A seems to be a happy side right now, but the quick wickets from India A might turn the dynamics of the game. Right now, Aussies are in big trouble as they have already lost four wickets in 25 overs.
