Katherine Sciver-Brunt joined the Trent Rockets coaching staff as an assistant coach on 20 July 2026. This appointment marks her first official coaching role since she retired from professional cricket in 2023.
The England legend will work specifically with the womenβs team during the 2026 edition of The Hundred. Consequently, she returns to the franchise where she ended her playing career at Trent Bridge.
Sciver-Brunt joins the team of head coach Chris Read to help mentor the current squad. This new era for the former bowler comes after she spent three years away from the pitch as a player. During her time away, she worked as a commentator and sports analyst for various media outlets. Now, she feels ready to step back into a direct role within the sport she loves.
A Famous Return to Trent Bridge
Katherine Sciver-Brunt has played for the Trent Rockets in the first three seasons of the competition. She appeared 19 times for the Rockets before hanging up her boots in August 2023. She said that Trent Bridge is a special place and she could not turn down the opportunity to coach there.
And her new job keeps her close to her family. Her wife Nat Sciver-Brunt is still playing for Trent Rockets as a star all-rounder and England captain. The couple recently marked the first birthday of their son Theo, born in March 2025. Sciver-Brunt said that she’s been focused on her paternal duties for the last few years. And she eventually felt the time was right to re-join the world of professional cricket as a mentor.

Katherine Sciver-Brunt Stats and Records
Katherine Sciver-Brunt is one of the greatest cricketers England has ever produced. She took 335 wickets for her country across all formats of the game. This record made her England Womenβs second-highest wicket-taker of all time. Specifically, she achieved these numbers over a long career that lasted three decades. Only Sophie Ecclestone has managed to take more international wickets for England, a record broken just last week at Lord’s.
In addition to her international success, the government recognised her hard work. She received an OBE for her services to cricket last month. This award highlights her massive impact on the growth of the women’s game in the United Kingdom.

New Coaching Staff at Trent Rockets

The Rockets have made several changes to their coaching teams for the 2026 season. Alongside Katherine Sciver-Brunt, the womenβs team hired Graeme White as a fielding coach. White previously played as a spinner for Nottinghamshire and knows the grounds at Trent Bridge intimately. He took 92 wickets during his time at the club and won the Yorkshire Bank 40 trophy in 2013.
Meanwhile, the menβs team also added new faces to their staff. Anton Roux will serve as an assistant to head coach Peter Moores. Roux has a strong background in international coaching, having worked with the South Africa Men’s white-ball team. He also spent time with the Sri Lanka Men’s team and the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. These appointments mean both the men’s and women’s teams have full coaching squads ready for the summer.
