The Multan Sultans began their run chase in the second innings with an explosive partnership between Steve Smith and Sahibzada Farhan. They added a total of 71 runs together in just 5.1 wickets when the first wicket went down. Farhan made 32 runs off only 14 balls. His innings included four boundaries and two massive sixes.

Although Sahibzada Farhan fell in the sixth over, Steve Smith continued to anchor the innings. He found a reliable partner in Josh Philippe, who added a quick 18 runs. Following Smith’s departure in the 14th over, Shan Masood took over the responsibility of finishing the match.
Shan Masood remained not out on 46 runs from 30 balls. He hit two fours and two sixes to ensure the run rate never became a concern. Consequently, Multan Sultans reached 167/4 with 15 balls to spare.
Quetta Gladiators Struggle Against Precision Bowling

He played a brilliant unbeaten innings of 49 runs from 31 deliveries. Jacobs hit four boundaries and three sixes during his stay at the crease. Finally, Ahmed Daniyal made a quick 22 off 9 balls before being called out due to a hamstring injury. Their late efforts helped Quetta reach a total of 166/7 in 20 overs in the first innings.

Mohammad Nawaz Delivers For Multan Sultans
Mohammad Nawaz was the best bowler for Multan Sultans. He took 3 wickets for 30 runs in his four overs. He dismissed the set batter Saud Shakeel, and also took the wicket of Tom Curran in the same over. His standout performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
Likewise, Arafat Minhas bowled exceptionally well for the Sultans. He took 2 wickets for 14 runs in his four overs. He maintained an economy rate of just 3.50. He took the wicket of Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz in the middle order to disrupt the Gladiator’s batting.
