Pakistan Seal Series with Dominant Karachi Victory Over Zimbabwe

Pakistan Women Seal ODI Series Against Zimbabwe in Karachi

On May 6, 2026, Pakistan Women clinched their ODI series with a commanding 206-run win in the second ODI against Zimbabwe at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. With the victory in the first ODI, Pakistan will now have an unbeatable 2-0 record in the three-match ICC Women’s Championship series.

It was a complete team effort —  dominant with the bat & technical with the ball — and one that will help Pakistan move up the ICC Women’s Championship points table.

Pakistan Openers Put on a Masterclass with Back-to-Back Centuries

Pakistan chose to bat first, and their first two batter did not disappoint. Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas put Zimbabwe under pressure from the off with a 189-run opening stand.

Gull Feroza scored her first ODI century, hitting 13 fours off 95 balls before being stumped off Lindokuhle Mabhero. It was a confident innings, and the opening stand she formed with Shamas was the second-highest in Pakistan Women’s ODI history.

Sadaf Shamas stayed on after Feroza’s dismissal and went on to score her maiden ODI century. She hit 101 off 112 balls, scored 10 fours and one six before being caught in the 40th over. Shamas is now in the lead in the run-scoring table of ICC Women’s Championship 2026 with 357 runs in five innings, averaging 71.40.

The middle order continued the momentum. Sidra Amin maintained her unbeaten record for her 15th ODI half-century, hitting 59 off 58 balls. Captain Fatima Sana hit a blistering 25 off 13 balls, while Aliya Riaz scored 27 off 14 deliveries. Ayesha Zafar bowled unbeaten for eight balls with a score of 18. Pakistan had to settle for 343 for 4, which was always going to be too many runs for Zimbabwe.

Pakistan Bowlers Wrap Up Zimbabwe for 137

Zimbabwe’s batting was brought to its knees by a disciplined Pakistan bowling attack as they sought 344 for victory. They were bowled out for 137 in 39 overs, and 206 runs behind the target.

Fatima Sana was the best of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets for 15 runs in 6 overs, an outstanding performance. Rameen Shamim and Momina Riasat each picked up two wickets, while Syeda Aroob Shah also had a pair. Diana Baig took the final wicket.

Zimbabwe’s top order put up little resistance. In the second over, Christine Mutasa hit a duck, and Kelly Ndiraya came in right after but failed to score. Opener Kelis Ndhlovu was the highlight with 32 off 51 balls, but when she was out in the 16th over, the innings went astray. Runyararo Pasipanodya was the key batter on the night, and she finished unbeaten on 33 off 62 balls, but was not backed by anyone.

Pakistan Strengthen Their ICC Women’s Championship Position

The series win is important beyond just the result. Pakistan have six points from five matches in the ICC Women’s Championship 2026 ranking table, along with Australia and South Africa. Their net run rate of 1.826 is a measure of their winning margin in this series.

New Zealand are currently top of the table with 10 points from six matches, while Sri Lanka are second with eight points. Pakistan will be hoping to bridge that deficit in the third and final ODI against Zimbabwe on May 9 in Karachi.

Gull Feroza had the sensational 100 in the middle alongside a fielding display of two catches, for which she received a fitting Player of the Match award.
