Tanisha Singh scored 92 runs while Niki Prasad made unbeaten 78 to guide India A Women reach 351 runs for 9 against Australia Women on the opening day of their unofficial four-day Test match. The match took place at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali on 29 September 2026.
India A won the toss and chose to bat first, and they dominated most of the 100 overs bowled on Day One. Shubha Satheesh also scored 59 runs as the home team built a strong total despite two separate batting collapses. Off-spinner Lilly Mills and all-rounder Charli Knott claimed three wickets each for Australia A to keep the visitors in the contest. India A will resume their first innings on Wednesday morning with one wicket in hand.
Strong Opening Stand Before Sudden Collapse
India A openers Priya Punia and Shubha Satheesh scored an important 102-run partnership in 27 overs. Punia scored 46 runs off 65 balls, hitting seven fours and one six. Satheesh scored 59 runs off 117 deliveries, including 10 boundary hits.
However, Australia A’s fast bowler Milly Illingworth broke the opening stand when Tahlia Wilson caught Punia behind the stumps. Off-spinner Lilly Mills then turned the match quickly in Australia A’s favour with three rapid strikes. Mills dismissed India A captain Yastika Bhatia for five runs. Two balls later, Mills trapped Satheesh leg-before-wicket for 59. Mills struck again in her next over when Charli Knott caught Tejal Hasabnis for just two runs.
India A suffered a dramatic collapse, losing four wickets for just 18 runs to slide from 102 for no loss to 120 for four. Mills bowled 31 overs during the day and took 3 wickets for 94 runs.

Late Wickets and Lower-Order Resistance
Flintoff’s breakthrough allowed Australia A to trigger another swift lower-order collapse. All-rounder Charli Knott dismissed Sayali Satghare for one run and Shabnam Shakil for four runs in the same over. Knott then trapped Vaishnavi Sharma leg-before-wicket for six runs to reduce India A to 326 for nine. Knott took 3 wickets for 82 in 24 overs.
Despite the setback, Prasad scored a rapid 78 not out off just 99 balls, striking 11 fours and two sixes. Her aggressive counter-attack pushed India A past the 350-run mark before the umpires called stumps. Shuchi Upadhyay remained unbeaten on zero off eight balls alongside Prasad.
