Tim Seifert led Manchester Super Giants to a 10-wicket victory over Sunrisers Leeds. The match took place on 11 August 2026, at Emirates Old Trafford. Opening batter Tim Seifert scored 80 not out from 40 balls to chase down a target of 128 runs in just 67 balls.
The Super Giants move into second place in The Hundred standings and keep their knockout hopes alive. Meanwhile, the defeat ended the Sunrisersβ chances of finishing top and qualifying directly for the final.
Manchester Super Giants Secure Dominant Victory at Old Trafford
The Manchester Super Giants produced their most complete performance of the season to crush Sunrisers Leeds at home. They won the toss and chose to bowl first on a pitch that usually favours batters. This decision proved successful as they restricted the visitors to their lowest score of the tournament.
Tim Seifert and Paul Walter opened the batting for the Super Giants and finished the game without losing a single wicket. Seifert played with great aggression, hitting seven sixes during his 52 minutes at the crease. The Super Giants reached the target with 33 balls remaining.
Trent Rockets have now officially secured first place with 24 points and will go straight to the final at Lord’s on Sunday. The Super Giants moved ahead of Sunrisers Leeds into second place due to their superior net run-rate of 0.791.

Tim Seifert and Paul Walter Crush Sunrisers Bowlers
Manchester Super Giants made light work of the 128-run target, with openers Tim Seifert and Paul Walter remaining unbeaten throughout the chase.
Seifert was particularly aggressive, reaching his half-century quickly and continuing to attack the Sunrisers bowlers. His unbeaten 80 came from 40 balls and included five fours and seven sixes.
The opener also survived a chance on 57 when he struck a high delivery from Abrar Ahmed, but Zak Crawley was unable to complete the difficult catch.
Walter provided strong support at the other end, finishing unbeaten on 44 from 28 balls. His innings included three fours and three sixes. He struck two consecutive sixes against Abrar shortly after Seifert had been dropped.
The pair put together an unbeaten 128-run opening partnership and took Manchester Super Giants to victory with 33 balls remaining.

Bowling Masterclass Limits Sunrisers Leeds to Season-Low Score
The Super Giants managed to take all ten Sunrisers wickets for just 127 runs. Nine of the ten wickets fell to catches, highlighting the accuracy of the Manchester bowlers. Gus Atkinson was the pick of the bowlers for the home side. He took 3 wickets for 30 runs from his 20 balls. Atkinson took the important wickets of Ryan Rickelton, Matthew Potts, and Abrar Ahmed to prevent any late-innings recovery from the visitors.
The Sunrisers started well with Mitchell Marsh and Ryan Rickelton putting on 42 runs in just 22 balls. Marsh, the tournament’s leading run-scorer, looked dangerous but fell for 32 after being caught by Noor Ahmad. This wicket triggered a collapse in the Sunrisers’ middle order. Sonny Baker played a crucial role by removing key English batters Zak Crawley and Harry Brook. Crawley had made a steady 31 before being caught by Michael Bracewell off Baker’s bowling. Brook fell shortly after for just 10 runs.

Impact on The Hundred 2026 Knockout Stages
The result of this match has cleared up the qualification picture for the final stages of the competition. With Manchester Super Giants moving into second place, they are now in a strong position to play in the Eliminator match.
Because Sunrisers Leeds lost this match, they can no longer catch the Trent Rockets at the top of the table. The Rockets have been the most consistent team this year and have earned their place in the final at Lord’s.

The teams finishing in second and third place will face each other in the Eliminator at The Oval on Friday. Currently, those spots are held by Manchester Super Giants and Sunrisers Leeds. However, Welsh Fire and MI London still have a mathematical chance of qualifying if they win their final games by very large margins on Wednesday.
