What Happened: RCB Bowlers Dismantle DC Early
After winning the toss, Mandhana chose to bowl first, and the decision paid immediate dividends. England pacer Lauren Bell struck twice in the opening over, removing Lizelle Lee for 4 and Laura Wolvaardt for a golden duck.
Debutant Sayali Satghare then delivered a devastating double-wicket maiden, bowling both Jemimah Rodrigues and Marizanne Kapp to leave DC reeling at 10 for 4 after just 1.3 overs. Shafali Verma fought back with an aggressive 62 off 41 balls, featuring five fours and four sixes.
Her counter-attacking knock provided the only resistance as DC slumped to 74 for 6. Young debutant Lucy Hamilton smashed a quickfire 36 off 19 balls, including three fours and three sixes, to push DC to a respectable 166 all out in exactly 20 overs.

When did RCB’s Chase take control?
Chasing 167, RCB lost Grace Harris early to Marizanne Kapp in the third over, with the score at 14 for 1. But that proved to be DC’s only breakthrough.
Mandhana and Georgia Voll stitched together a match-winning 142-run partnership for the second wicket, completely taking the game away from the Capitals. Mandhana dominated the bowling, racing to her fifty off just 31 balls.
She struck 13 boundaries and three sixes in a masterclass of strokeplay. Voll played the supporting role perfectly, finishing unbeaten on 54 off 42 balls with five fours and two sixes.
How RCB Sealed Victory?
The RCB captain fell for 96 in the 18th over, caught brilliantly by Hamilton off Nandani Sharma‘s bowling, denying the league its first century. By then, the damage was done. Richa Ghosh walked in and remained unbeaten on 7 as Voll hit the winning runs with 10 balls to spare.
RCB’s comprehensive victory maintained their position at the top of the WPL points table with eight points from four matches. DC, meanwhile, sits at the bottom with just two points from one win in four games.

Why RCB’s Bowling Made the Difference?
Lauren Bell finished with figures of 3 for 26 in four overs, her early strikes setting the tone for RCB’s dominance. Sayali Satghare matched her with 3 for 27 in three overs on her WPL debut for RCB. Prema Rawat’s tight spell of 2 for 16 strangled DC’s middle order, while Nadine de Klerk chipped in with 1 for 31.
Mandhana was named Player of the Match for her outstanding knock. She said after the match that it was amazing to see everyone bowling well, especially in the first three overs, and that she played her natural game.
