Ronaldo Ends Exit Rumours, Says “I Belong to Saudi Arabia”

Cristiano Ronaldo Shuts Down Al-Nassr Exit Talk, Says I Belong to Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo has put an end to the swirling speculation about his future at Al-Nassr, declaring his commitment to the club and to Saudi Arabia after a turbulent few weeks that saw him refuse to play for the side on two separate occasions.

The 41-year-old Portuguese forward made headlines for all the wrong reasons earlier this month when he effectively went on strike, making himself unavailable for Al-Nassr’s matches against Al-Riyadh and Al-Ittihad.

His frustration stemmed from the club’s failure to bring in new signings during the winter transfer window, a protest aimed squarely at the Public Investment Fund that immediately triggered a wave of speculation about his future in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo Ends Strike With Brace in 4-0 Win

Ronaldo appears to have drawn a line under the episode. He returned to action for Al-Nassr’s match against Al-Fateh last weekend after the governing body addressed his primary concerns. He followed his appearance with a commanding performance against Al-Hazem on Saturday, scoring twice in a 4-0 victory.

The brace took his season tally to 21 goals, a return that underlines why Al-Nassr remain one of the most dangerous sides in the league despite the internal turbulence of recent weeks.

Ronaldo Commits His Future to Saudi Arabia

After the win, Ronaldo was direct when asked about his future. There was no ambiguity, no diplomatic side-stepping. “I’m very happy,” he said. “As I say so many times, I belong to Saudi Arabia. It’s a country that welcomed me, my family and my friends very well. I’m happy here. I want to continue here.”

For a player who has spent the last couple of years at the centre of transfer rumours linking him with moves back to Europe, those words carry some weight. Whether supporters fully believe them after the strike saga is another matter, but Ronaldo was clearly keen to reset the narrative and refocus attention on what happens on the pitch.

Ronaldo Eyes Title as Al-Nassr Push for Top Spot

Al-Nassr sit near the top of the Saudi Pro League table with the title race still very much alive. Ronaldo acknowledged the pressure that comes with that position but seemed to relish it. “The most important thing is we keep pushing. We are there at the top. Our job is to win, make pressure on our title rivals, and let’s see. We are on track.”

At 41, Ronaldo continues to defy what most would consider the natural limits of a footballer’s career. His fitness, his hunger, and his ability to deliver in big moments remain intact, and his 21 goals this season are proof of that.

The veteran footballer has always been vocal about his ambitions and his expectations of the clubs he plays for, but going on strike was a step that surprised many within the game. Al-Nassr, for their part, appear to have moved past it. The club needed Ronaldo back, and Ronaldo, by his own admission, was always going to return.

Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, he has become one of the most recognisable figures in the league, helping to draw global attention to a competition that has invested heavily in marquee names. With the title race entering its most critical phase, his focus is firmly on delivering for Al-Nassr.

“We’re back, we are good, we are confident,” he said. “Game by game. We are in good shape. Let’s see what’s going to happen.”
