David Beckham has officially been knighted by King Charles III as part of the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours, earning the title Sir David Beckham for services to sport and charity.
According to AP News, this recognizes his football career with 115 England caps and league titles across multiple countries, as well as his charity work with UNICEF and his role in bringing the 2012 London Olympics. Beckham has been a UNICEF ambassador since 2005 and became an ambassador for The King’s Foundation in 2024.
On social media, his son Romeo shared how proud he was, with the picture of the two, writing “So so proud of you” with heart emojis. The official knighthood ceremony is expected later this year at Buckingham Palace.
