Pakistan is one team in sports that is always laced with controversies. In recent news about football, FIFA banned the Pakistan football team, which created issues for their AFC Asian Cup qualification.
Pakistan is termed to be one of the better teams in South Asia when we typically talk about football.
However, their management and football committee seem to be not interested in following FIFA guidelines.
Why Did FIFA Ban the Pakistan Football Team?
FIFA banned the Pakistan football team as they were unable to accept constitutional amendments recommended by FIFA and AFC.
The lack of acceptance has resulted in the loss of membership rights for the Pakistan football team.
It has been banned from participating in any international tournaments until the ban is lifted.

AFC Notice To Pakistan Football Federation
As soon as FIFA banned the Pakistan football team from being part of any international competition, it was AFC who banned them as well. Pakistan was all set to be part of the AFC tournament for 2027, which would be held in Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the media, the AFC has provided a letter claiming that to have sufficient time to prepare for the AFC qualifier, Pakistan will have to get its issue solved by 25th March 2025.
Failing to do so will automatically ban them from the AFC tournament. Not only that, PFF will also be banned from any international tournaments.
Just to add more to the drama, the Pakistan women’s football team had already pulled out of the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers. This suggests that the Pakistan men’s team will have pressure on themselves.
Pakistan Football Team Ruled Out of AFC Cup Qualifiers 2027
According to the recent news on GEO TV, it is believed that Pakistan has been ruled out of the AFC Cup qualifiers.
Pakistan Football Federation confirmed that they regret to inform the football fraternity that the national team is unable to participate in the final round of the AFC Asian Cup.
The qualifying tournament was bound to happen in Saudi Arabia, but Pakistan didn’t seem to have made it.
According to PFF, there wasn’t enough time to get the suspension lifted or prepare for the qualifiers. Had Pakistan made it to the qualifiers, they would have had a better chance of playing in the AFC.
The green team was placed in Group E alongside Syria, Myanmar, and Afghanistan. Pakistan’s opening match was placed on 25th March. However, this new news has made the football fans worried.
Since Pakistan was stripped of FIFA rights on 6th February, they haven’t been given any membership or chance to participate in international tournaments.
Even though Pakistan has stripped itself of the right to play qualifiers, FIFA hasn’t commented on or said anything about that matter.
Fans wait impatiently from FIFA regarding the news about the exclusion from the Pakistan Football Federation.
