FIFA sets foot in North Africa! With eyes on the 2030 World Cup, it has inaugurated a brand new regional office in Morocco. This marks the 5th office in Africa, and the first in North Africa.
The newly established would serve as a key operational hub for Africa’s football development, supporting all 54 African member associations and playing a central role in preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will host, partnering with Spain and Portugal.

The 2026 FIFA is yet to come, but they are already super excited for the 2030 edition, which is still years away. This is the first time in history, Morocco is preparing to host the World Cup alongside European countries, Spain and Portugal.

Morocco’s attempts to host the World Cup in 1994, 1998, 2006, 2010, and 2026 were unsuccessful, but the 2030 edition will at last bring the nation’s dream of hosting football’s biggest event.
Also, it will be the second time for any African nation, following South Africa’s successful run in 2010.
As per the source, this new office is located near Rabat, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamora, Salé, which is right next to the headquarters of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
The grand inauguration ceremony took place on the 26th of July, graced by the presence of high-profile figures:

Morocco National Team’s Journey in the World Cup Spotlight
Morocco’s national football team is among the elite teams in FIFA World Cup history.
They reached their best-ever performance in the last tournament, 2022, advancing to the semi-finals, becoming the first African and Arab nation to achieve this milestone. The Atlas Lions finished in fourth place after the tournament.
Also, they have qualified for the World Cup final stages six times: in 1970, 1986, 1994, 1998, and 2018.
