Welcome to the Gunners squad, Christian Nørgaard!! Arsenal signed the former Brentford Captain on a two-year deal for a transfer fee of £10 million. Nørgaard is assigned No.16 of the Arsenal jersey.
According to Sky Sports, the deal also consists of performance-related add-ons worth £5 million. This is Arsenal’s 3rd signing of this season, with Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi joining the team.

Christian Nørgaard is overjoyed about joining The Gunners, calling it “a childhood dream”.
The Gunners signed Christian Nørgaard on a two-year deal on 10th July 2025 from Brentford. Both parties agreed on an initial payment of £10 million and an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons.

This is not the signing score of the Gunners this summer. Nørgaard comes to Arsenal as their third signing, following Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Upon completing the signing of the deal, Arsenal’s new defender Nørgaard expressed his happiness to the public.
He said, “You can get almost emotional because maybe it was a dream that I’ve given a little bit up on coming towards the later stage in my career. I’ve just turned 31 and had signed a new deal with Brentford. Of course, there’s always a little chance that a miracle could happen with Brentford, but it was probably unrealistic to play Champions League with them.
Now, I get to hear the anthem and be a part of a Champions League campaign. It’s a childhood dream and something I didn’t think would be possible. So it’s something I’m really, really happy about.”
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is on cloud nine after signing one of the best midfielders in the market.

He said, “We’re delighted to welcome Christian to Arsenal. He is an international player with a wealth of experience of the Premier League. He has proven leadership skills and a strong character, which will be invaluable to our squad.

Not only praise from Arsenal, but Nørgaard has earned respect from his former club, Brentford.
Director of football Phil Giles has expressed his gratitude for Nørgaard’s good six-year stint with the club.
Giles Further said, “He has been a key player for us, played a big part in helping us retain our Premier League status for the last four years, and has been a fantastic captain over the last couple of seasons.
He has really earned the opportunity at one of England’s biggest clubs through his performances and his personality. We wish him well, and he will always be welcome back at Brentford in the future.”

Christian Thers Nørgaard is a Danish footballer born on 10th March 1994 in Copenhagen. He began playing for local FC Bk Heimdal and Espergærde IF, before joining the youth system of Lyngby at his fourteen.
Three years later, Nørgaard found himself with the senior team of Lyngby. He made his official debut on 20th November 2011 in a 2–2 Superliga draw with HB Køge, but only as a substitute.

Nørgaard is a regular Danish squad and received his first call-up from the Denmark national team in 2022, making his debut for the country on 8th September in a goalless draw with England. Since then, he has appeared in 35 matches, contributing one goal.
