Group G of the AFC Champions League Two is getting interesting as Bangkok United has successfully begun their campaign with a win over Selangor FC by 4-2 on Thursday. Bangkok was already leading the match 3-1 in the first half of the game, and later finished off the game after an impressive goal from Philipe Maia in the 84th minute.
However, Selangor FC’s substitute Izwan Yuslan also scored the second goal in the 73rd minute, preventing them from bearing an embarrassing loss in the second half.

In the second match in Group G of the AFC Champions League Two, Bangkok United secured a convincing win over Selangor FC by 4-2 at the MBPJ Stadium on Thursday. From the very first whistle of the game, the Thailand side were very sharp and consistent, laying off the early pressure to Selangor FC.
As a result, Bangkok United’s Ilias Alhaft scored a clinical goal in the 11th minute of the game after Muhsen Alghassani slipped a clever pass, converting it into a goal. Four minutes later, the away side doubled their lead. Jakkapan Praisuwan walked over to the right to Alghassani, assisting him to score another stunner, which left Selangor in a state of shock.
The home side, Selangor, seemed to be determined and in the intention of making a comeback after conceding two goals in the first half. Quentin Cheng observed a space on the right and sent a low cross, leading Chrigor Moraes’ strike to touch the net. Following this moment, Bangkok was leading the game by 2-1, but the lead extended in the 24th minute of the game when Alhaft’s powerful strike went through the goalkeeper.
Things got worse for the Malaysian club when their defender Harith Haiqa received a straight red card in the 39th minute, leaving the side with 10 men in the field.

The second half got even more interesting when Bangkok United continued pressuring the Malaysian club, but Selangor kept looking for opportunities as they created some really good chances. Chrigor had an opportunity to tap in an easy goal in the initial stages, but the Bangkok goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai made a crucial save. Their perseverance paid off in the 73rd minute when a substitute, Aliff Izwan, scored with a rebound seconds after coming on board.
The game was almost over in the 84th minute when Bangkok scored another stunner, emerging as the winner when Philipe Maia headed to get a goal that made 4-2, and assured three points for the men of Totchtawan Sripan.

As a football fan, the second game in Group G of the AFC Champions League Two undoubtedly lived up to the hype, with the visiting side defeating Selangor FC 4-2. It was clearly a dominating performance from Bangkok United since they managed to put pressure from the very beginning of the game, scoring three goals in the first half.
During the second half, Selangor FC tried to make a comeback but failed miserably when Bangkok’s defenders prevented them from scoring a goal. Following the game, Bangkok United is in the first position in the points table with three points, while Selangor is at the bottom of the table.
