Reports have surfaced on social media platforms after Liverpool rejected the £58.6m offer from the German club, Bayern Munich, for the forward Luis Diaz. As per the BBC, the German club approached Liverpool earlier this month to purchase the forward but were told that the player is not available for transfer.
Luis Diaz has been a key player for Liverpool under their new manager, Arne Slot, and has no plans to let him go since he is also under contract until the summer of 2027.
[TRENDING] The Transfer Approach by Bayern Munich
The 28-year-old young prospect, Luis Diaz, has been getting attention recently after his performance in all the competitions, especially helping Liverpool to the Premier League title. According to the reports that have been leaking across digital platforms, the 28-year-old forward was approached by the German club, Bayern Munich, for £58.6m, which Liverpool eventually turned down. Despite having two years left on his contract, he has emerged as one of the top targets for Bayern.
Sky Sports revealed on July 2 that Liverpool rejected the £58.6m and informed Bayern that Luis Diaz is not available for transfer since he still has two years left on his contract and is contributing to the team as one of the key players.

The Premier League Champions’ internal accounting has valued the forward at £86m, but has still not set the price, as they are not in a position to sell the key player.
However, it has been learned that Diaz is waiting for his contract to expire and move to other clubs. He has shown keen interest in joining the German club, following the offer made by the clubs in Saudi Arabia, a region that recently valued Bruno Fernandes at £86.8m.
The Colombian is believed to have been one of the future prospects for Arne Slot’s squad since he scored 22 goals for the club and the country last season, among which 13 goals were scored in the Premier League to help Liverpool clinch the title by 10 points.
Fan and Media Reaction
Following the news of Liverpool turning down the offer for the Colombian forward, Luis Diaz, at £58.6m, the fans and football enthusiasts did not hesitate to express their opinion on social media platforms, especially under the comment section of the post posted by Fabrizio Romano.
Most of the fans in the comment section were fuming over the decision of Liverpool since they could have gone for a variety of players with the sale of Diaz for £58.6m.
One of the users wrote, “Why not accept it and buy Nicholas Jackson with it?”
Similarly, another user wrote, “Bayern pushing hard on Diaz with that €67.5m bid shows they’re serious, but Liverpool’s stance is clear after rejecting it. Track record says they’ll want 85m+ minimum for a player hitting prime years with an 82% take-on success rate. The market’s heating up with Barça circling. $ODDS.”

Meanwhile, there were several fans who truly acknowledged the decision of Liverpool since Diaz has been performing well for the team and has helped them to win titles. The official X handle of Squawka wrote, “Liverpool were the only side to have multiple players that completed 50+ take-ons, created 50+ chances, and scored 10+ goals in the Premier League last season:
◎ Mohamed Salah
◉ Luis Diaz
They aren’t letting go of the Colombian that easily.”

Keeping the fans’ reactions aside, it has been the second time in a span of weeks that Liverpool has turned down the interest in selling Diaz. Along with Bayern, Barcelona had also made an offer for Diaz earlier in the summer.
No wonder Liverpool is doing everything to keep Diaz in the club, since in his 148 appearances for the club, he has scored 41 goals, along with 23 assists.
Amit Mishra’s View on Liverpool Rejecting Bayern Munich’s Offer
From a football lover’s perspective, Liverpool rejecting the £58.6m offer from Bayern Munich does not seem rational since with this amount, they could have gone for lots of choices. Having said that, Luis Diaz has been performing outstandingly for the club in recent months, which might have compelled the club to keep him so he could further benefit the team. However, the interest of Diaz to leave and joining another club signifies that he has been liking the attention he is getting recently and might leave the club as soon as his contract ends in 2027.
