It’s Indian para-badminton star Munna Khalid, who clinched the bronze medal in the Men’s Doubles (MD) category at the POLYTRON Indonesia Para Badminton International 2025 – Level 1 tournament, and that podium finish secured his place at next year’s World Championships.
What’s more? Indian Para-Badminton players showcased a strong performance at the tournament, taking home gold and silver medals in both singles and doubles categories. What a proud moment for India!
Indonesia Para Badminton 2025 Ends on a High Note
Representing India, Munna Khalid displayed outstanding skill and determination against top international competitors.

As reported, Munna Khalid partnered with Shashank Kumar in the Men’s Doubles. The duo showcased exceptional skill throughout the tournament. In the semifinals, they faced fellow Indian pair Abu Hubaida and Prem Kumar Ale. However, they were unable to win, finishing with the bronze medal.
More details on the event, Indonesia Para Badminton, which was held from 29th October to 2nd November, featured top para-badminton players from India and Indonesia primarily, with India sweeping multiple medals.
Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam won the gold medal in Men’s Doubles (SL3-SL4), while the silver went to Dwiyoko and Fredy Setiawan from Indonesia. Moreover, Shashank Kumar also won a silver medal in Men’s Singles (WH1) in the same tournament.

About Munna Khalid
Khalid was only six months, when he was diagnosed with polio. The third eldest among seven siblings, he grew up in Khanpur, Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh.
But despite his early-life physical challenges, Khalid pursued higher education. He holds a BA (Hons), a Master’s in Social Work, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Hindi Literature, all from Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi.
Besides, Munna Khalid got seriously involved in para-badminton around 2014–2015. In 2019, he had to start using a wheelchair due to his physical condition.
However, Munna’s financial difficulties in affording a specialized, professional-grade wheelchair affected his performance.
