In Japan Para Badminton International 2025, Odisha’s Pramod Bhagat won three Gold medals in men’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. This is the Indian shuttler Pramod’s second triple-gold in a row in the international circuit, a month after he did it at the China Para Badminton International.

Krishna Nagar clinched two golds, while Sukant Kadam earned gold in doubles and silver in singles, respectively.

Indian Shuttler Pramod’s three gold medals :

In the final of the men’s singles in the Japan Para Badminton International, Pramod faced Japan’s Daisuke Fujihara. Things did not seem to be easy after losing the first game by 17-21. However, the real champion came back superbly to win the following two matches by 21-19 and 21-10, in a game lasting more than an hour and a half.

Pramod didn’t stop there, he joined forces with Sukant Kadam to win another gold in the men’s doubles, beating other Indians Jagadesh Dilli and Naveen Sivakumar in a thrilling three-set match (21-17, 18-21, 21-16).

To crown it all, Indian shuttler Pramod teamed up with Manisha Ramadass in the mixed doubles, where the two beat Nitesh Kumar and Thulasimathi Murugesan in straight games (21-19, 21-19). That took his gold tally of the tournament to three- a hat-trick to remember!

Along with this, Krishna Nagar won two golds, Sukant Kadam picked a gold and a silver, and players like Mansi Joshi, Thulasimathi Murugesan, Neeraj, and Nithya Sree were added to India’s gold medal count in the Japan Para Badminton International.

Bigyan Samele’s Perspective

For me the dominance of the Indian shuttler Pramod Bhagat to win the golden hat-trick at the Japan Para Badminton International 2025 was a moment of pride. His excellent run in the tournament to win gold in different categories (men’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles) has clearly signals towards a future world number one.

Special thanks to Krishna Nagar and Sukant Kadam for increasing India’s medal count.
