The much-loved KFF Singapore Badminton Open 2025 is back and bigger than ever. Taking place from 27 May to 1 June at the iconic Singapore Indoor Stadium, this Super 750 BWF World Tour event is gearing up to showcase some of the best badminton talent from across the globe.

With a prize pool of about US$1 million, rising from last year’s $850,000, the tournament promises top-level action, fierce competition, and unforgettable moments for fans.

Over 70% of the tickets have already been sold, and it’s easy to see why – the lineup this year is absolutely stacked with stars!

World-Class Players Ready for Action

Leading the women’s singles category is none other than An Se Young, the reigning Olympic champion from Paris 2024. She’ll be back to defend her Singapore Badminton Open title and is sure to bring her A-game to Singapore once again. On the men’s side, World No.1 Shi Yu Qi is returning to defend his crown, coming in hot after winning both the All England Open and Malaysia Open Super 1000 titles this season.

Joining them are recent Badminton Asia Championships winners, including World No.2 Kunlavut Vitidsarn, who missed last year’s edition due to injury but is eager to make a strong comeback. In the men’s doubles, all eyes will be on rising Korean duo Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae, who made headlines with two Super 1000 wins this year.

Singapore’s Own Stars to Watch

Leading the Singapore squad is Loh Kean Yew, who’s had a strong start to 2025 with a German Open final and a bronze medal at the Badminton Asia Championships, where he even beat World No.1 Shi Yu Qi. “There’s something special about playing at home,” Loh said. “The crowd’s energy really pushes me to perform my best.”

Also representing Singapore are Jason Teh Jia Heng, World No.23, who bagged his first big win at the Thailand Masters, and Yeo Jia Min, who’s been riding high after a breakthrough victory at the German Open 2025.

In mixed doubles, newly formed duo Terry Hee Yong Kai and Jin Yu Jia are set to make their debut as a pair at the Singapore Badminton Open, following Jessica Tan’s retirement.
