How did Golf play such a significant role in his life? We’ll unfold the story in detail.
Golf as a Life-Changer
Adam Dalton, a 19-year-old golfer from Jersey, is now becoming one of the most inspirational figures in the world of disability sports. He was born with a special condition of congenital limb deficiency (CLD), which led to underdeveloped arms, no hands, and an issue in his leg, causing continuous pain.
Despite having such difficulty in life, Adam has somehow gathered motivation for himself to live with the powerful motto: “No hands, no limits,” which has inspired millions of disabled people to pursue sports.
It was a decade ago when Adam picked up a golf club, and the moment he hit the very first ball, the joy sparked in him, leading him in the path to become a passionate sportsman. He found that golf, being a naturally social sport, helped him build confidence and engage more comfortably with others
He further said that golf helped significantly improve his mental health, as he was not only participating but winning the competition, which gave him a moral boost to continue playing the sport. He said,
“Finding a sport that I could play and I enjoyed, it felt welcoming and warming and life-saving.”
He explained how he used his armpit to hold the golf club, and his upper body’s strength to swing and hit the ball meters away.
However, his prosthetic leg used to cause a lot of trouble while playing since it would be difficult for him to stand on uneven surfaces and hit the ball, which was affecting his shot overall.
