Trump substituted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for him at the stately transfer at Dover Air Force Base.
To add to it, veterans and military families expressed outrage. One veteran told the media, “Coming home from dying in service and, ‘I’m going to hang out with the Saudis because of golf?’ I’m disgusted at a minimum.” For many, the Trump golf win came to represent not just a distraction—but a sign of deep disconnect from duty and respect.
