Tournament Overview & Key Details

The 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship is set to take place from February 20 to 23, 2025, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha. This vital tournament, organized by the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), will see 30 teams from across the nation competing for the national title.

Haryana, the current champions, will try to retain the title, while Indian Railways, last year’s runners-up, will try to claim it. The tournament will see stiff competition, with PKL star players like Pawan Sehrawat and Arjun Deshwal playing.

The championship will feature a group stage format, with varying teams within the different pools. The best teams from each of the pools will qualify for the knockout stage, and as such, each match will count in the pursuit of the championship.

The 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship in 2025 will feature 30 teams. These teams are arranged into eight pools, and each team’s goal is to place first in its pool to reach the knockout stage.

  • Pool B: Indian Railways, Bihar, Manipur
  • Pool C: Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Kerala
  • Pool D: Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh
  • Pool E: Services, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir
  • Pool F: Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Odisha, Jharkhand
  • Pool G: Karnataka, Punjab, West Bengal, Uttarakhand
  • Pool H: Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry

The group-stage matches will determine which teams advance to the knockout stages, so the initial matches will be decisive for qualification.
