World Number 10 ranked Alex de Minaur has been performing outstandingly over the weeks, breaking the record to hand out nine bagels in the past 52 weeks in major tournaments after his recent dominant victory over Grigor Dimitrov at the Monte Carlo Masters quarterfinals.
Along with him, the players to win through double bagels include Carlos Alcaraz, Denis Shapovalov, Karen Khanchanov, Novak Djokovic, and many more.
De Minaur’s Bagel Dominance
After the astonishing double bagel victory with the score 6-0, 6-0 at the Monte Carlo Masters, the Australian’s run for snatching the most bagel wins in major tournaments has been unstoppable (9 double bagel wins).
In recent weeks, he has done something on clay court that the king of clay, Rafael Nadal, never did in his 20 years of dominance on the surface.
De Minaur concluded by becoming the first player to win a quarterfinal, semifinal, or final 6-0, 6-0 in ATP Masters 1,000 history.
In the match against Grigor Dimitrov, De Minaur did not let him earn a single point even after reaching 30, which was all in one of the set points.
Moreover, he scored 48 points as compared to Dimitrov’s 15, in the two-set tennis match.
His other bagel run started after his victory over Michelsen by 6-1, 6-0, 6-2 at the 2024 French Open.
Ever since, he beat Tomas Machac by 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 earlier in the tournament.

The Australian also has a bagel win against Hubert Hurkacz 6-4, 6-0 at the Indian Wells Open; Jordan Thompson 6-0, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5; and Daniel Evans 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-0, 6-0 at the US Open.
Following the first double 6-0 for Masters 1000 quarters, De Minaur said,
“It’s an amazing feeling, especially with the troubles I had at the start of my career on this surface. Clay-court tennis is not about hitting hard, powerful shots. It’s about opening up the court, using variety, using angles, using height, and using different speeds. Understanding the balance between being too aggressive and too passive.”
