Bengaluru Torpedoes maintained their red hot form and winning streak, beating Chennai Blitz 3-1 in the Prime Volleyball League at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, on Monday. Bengaluru beat Chennai 17-15 14-16 17-15 16-14 to bag fourth straight win in the league. Joel Benjamin was awarded the player-of-the-match for his performance and efforts.
With this win, Bengaluru Torpedoes are sitting on the top of the table in Prime Volleyball League.
Match Highlights
In the heated match of the Prime Volleyball League, Chennai started the game at a very fast pace with the captain Jerome Vinith and starter Luiz Felipe Perotto leading the charge. Tarun Gowda had a great synergy with setter Sameer to provide more depth to the Chennai attacks.
On the other side, Bengaluru relied on Joel Benjamin and Sethu to punish Chennai in counter-attacks. Mujeeb, Jishnu, and Nitin Minhas were critical for Torpedoes in dominating the middle zone.

Turning Points and Gaining Momentum
Torpedoes’ defense was coordinated and solid, which made Chennai difficult to stitch its attacks. Libero Midhunkumar was a crucial defender for the Torpedoes, while skipper Mathew West’s vision ensured to find the right target for his passes.
On the other side, Jerome and Perotto continued fighting for Chennai. Several unforced errors from the Torpedoes opened up the chances for the Blitz to make a comeback in the game. Blocker Aditya Rana’s presence on court put belief back in Chennai’s court. It was a very close and heated game, as both sides were strong and solid.
Penrose performed when it mattered in a crucial moment of the game to tilt the game back in the Torpedoes’ favour. Bengaluru stayed in the lead, thanks to the two smart reviews from coach David Lee Penrose. Bangalore grew in confidence as the game progressed and bagged the win when Bengaluru needed the most, and the Torpedoes won the game with the final scoreline of 3-1 in Prime Volleyball League.
