FIVB Backs Ambitious Vision for Global Volleyball in 2025

Get set to take it to the next level with volleyball! FIVB has just unveiled its very ambitious vision for Global Volleyball 2025. It has big plans in store to make volleyball a far more thrilling and popular game across the world.Β 

Its mission is to grow the game, attract more enthusiasts, and take volleyball to every nook and corner of the world; this FIVB Vision 2025 is going to change our view of volleyball forever.

FIVB’s Vision 2025: A Game-Changer for Global Volleyball

Since 1947, FIVB has helped volleyball become one of the most popular sports in the world, second to none for participants and in their millions as spectators.

Organizing top events such as the Volleyball Nations League and the World Championships, promoting gender equality, and helping with youth participation activities in all these areas, FIVB has involved itself with its intent to shape volleyball globally.

Now, with Vision 2025, it is going to have an even greater impact. Here are the FIVB Vision Β  2025:

Competitions and Athlete Development

This theme aims to enrich the quality of competitions and create opportunities for future stars.

  • FIVB World Calendar 2029–2032: FIVB is developing a properly structured and conflict-free calendar of international events.
  • Beach Volleyball Turnaround: The goal is to reorganize beach volleyball to actually competitive and fan-friendly disciplines.
  • FIVB World Ranking: The goal is to allow for more transparent and performance-based rankings about fair recognition.
  • International Centers of Excellence: FIVB also aims to provide training facilities to help the best get groomed.
  • Volleyball Empowerhip 2.0: FIVB’s 2025 vision includes financial and technical support for all national federations in an effort to raise their level of competitiveness.

2. Technology and Game Integrity

Embracing innovations that protect the integrity of the game for fairness, precision, and quality experience for every stakeholder involved is also included in FIVB Vision 2025.

  • Technology and Integrity of the Game: This goal aims to advance replay systems and live analytics to make competitions more equitable and attractive.
  • Knowledge Transfer and Sustainability: Transference of best practices in technology, management of facilities, and sustainable development is focused in FIVB vision 2025 to raise volleyball operations.
  • Governance and Organizational Growth: FIVB aims to strive for transparency, and effectiveness in governance for improved global partnership ties.
  • FIVB Good Governance State of the Art: FIVB will maintain accountability, fair representation, and transparency at all levels as per FIVB Vision 2025.
  • Categorization and Membership of National Federations: Reclassification of the federations to serve them with more support and growth concerning needs and competitive level.
  • FIVB Regional Offices: FIVB’S global vision is also to further strengthen the establishment of regional offices as points of local contact and with specific strategies for development.

Global Visibility and Media

This theme aims to help increase volleyball globally through media partnership and storytelling.

  • Volleyball World: Position volleyball as one of the most popular entertainment brands in the world, using strategic partnerships and media exposure is also mentioned in FIVB Vision 2025.
  • Athletes, History, and Legacy: The FIVB looks forward to celebrating the history of the sport by promoting current athletes to inspire new generations.
  • International Relations and Olympic Movement: Further, FIVB aims to develop relations with the IOC to ensure that volleyball is present in every edition of the Olympic Games.

5. Social Responsibility and Mass Participation

The theme of this goal is towards social volleyball and community development. This goal points to using volleyball as a tool for social improvement, targeting youth, equity, and lifestyle improvements by focusing on selected target areas.

How FIVB Plans to Elevate the Sport on the Global Stage

“Volleyball has this incredible power to unite people from all over the world,” FIVB said in a statement while announcing the change. “Our dream is for this sport to be most thrilling and accessible to all.”

To make all these happen, FIVB intends to focus on two major areas: increasing the reach of the sport and enhancing the fan experience.

Global Reach Expansion

FIVB wants volleyball to reach new audiences in Asia, Africa, and South America. By organizing more international events in these regions, they aim to make the sport as popular as soccer and basketball.
