Poland fought hard and showed skill to keep their bronze medal for the third time in a row. They moved up three important places in the FIVB Women’s World Rankings, passing the USA and Turkiye to reach World No. 3. The medal wasn’t the only thing that was important.

France’s Wild Leap and Czechia’s Dream Debut
If Poland’s rise was great, France’s was amazing. Beginning in 19th place, the French women surprised everyone by ending up in ninth place overall.
That moved them up five places to 14th — their best spot ever. Czechia caught attention too. They started in the VNL and surprised everyone by finishing in 11th place, then moved up two spots to 13th in FIVB World Rankings from 15th place.
Germany and Japan also moved up, with Germany going to 10th place and Japan to 5th place, as they kept their good progress in the world scene.

Italy didn’t just win, they dominated. Without dropping a match, the reigning Olympic champs retained their VNL crown and padded their World Ranking points like a queen reinforcing her castle walls.
Their score ballooned from 437.03 to 474.06, putting them 47.46 points clear at the top — a margin as wide as a cross-court spike. Meanwhile, the drop zone was just as dramatic.
Thailand free-fell from 13th to 20th after barely surviving relegation. The USA, once a pillar of global dominance, slid to seventh.
Canada and Belgium nosedived too, each losing four spots. Even Turkiye, despite a solid sixth-place VNL finish, dropped two spots. It was a brutal reminder that the VNL isn’t forgiving — it rewards excellence and punishes inconsistency.
