Mumbai Meteors and Bengaluru Torpedoes will play in the championship match of the Prime Volleyball League 2025 after both teams reeled off comfortable wins in their semifinals at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.
While Mumbai comfortably dispatched the Goa Guardians in straight sets, Bengaluru handled the defending champion Ahmedabad Defenders in an exhilarating four-set contest.

Mumbai Meteors put on a clinic to earn their place in the final of the Prime Volleyball League 2025, defeating Goa Guardians with a score of 15-8, 15-8, 16-14.
Shubham Chaudhary, with his dynamic hitting, leading the scoring count, and positioning, was named Player of the Match.
Goa opened aggressively, sending Nathaniel Dickinson and Rohit Yadav greedily putting the ball between layers with rapid spikes and fast serves. However, Mumbai’s backline organized defence and superiority in attack put them in control quickly.
The consistency displayed by Amit Gulia and Shubham Chaudhary on the net was proving to be the difference maker, as Goa’s defence was troubled and lost rhythm at the early stage of the match.
Goa Guardians’ Early Fight Falters
Goa’s middle-zone expert Prince attempted to initiate some quick countermoves, but Mumbai’s Karthik and Petter Ostvik dictated the pace and forced fewer mistakes through disciplined execution.

Sandeep Leads Bengaluru Torpedoes to Victory Over Ahmedabad Defenders
In the second semifinal, Bengaluru Torpedoes defeated a spirited Ahmedabad Defenders team, scoring 10-15, 15-11, 15-13, 15-13.
Setter Sandeep, who impelled the attack with no lapse in passing or setting, took home the Player of the Match for an awesome match of passing and control.
The first set saw Ahmedabad’s Nandhagopal and Angamuthu successfully finding and separating balls through blocks and super points. Bengaluru struggled early, and their middle play against Ahmedabad was problematic, leading to a 10-15 first set.
Bengaluru head coach David Lee remarked:
“I am pretty pleased with how we have played the entire season. I think that they competed really well today, and I think they showed they can even compete when we are not at full strength.”
Momentum Shift: Bengaluru’s Tactical Comeback
Bengaluru’s revival came with Mujeeb leading the way with nimble reflexes and precise attacks. Sethu’s super serve and the deep-angle spikes from Jalen Penrose got the match to one set each in the semifinal of the Prime Volleyball League 2025.
