Hampshire Women won by 71 runs against Warwickshire Women after Rhianna Southby made an unbeaten 90 in the 48th game of the ECB Womenβs One Day Cup at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, on June 24, 2026. Hampshire scored 265 for 7 in 50 overs and then bowled out Warwickshire for 194 runs in 42 overs to win the match with a bonus point.
Hampshire captain Georgia Adams won the toss and elected to bat, but the opening partnership lasted barely two overs. Adams ran herself out for a duck in the first over, and Maia Bouchier followed shortly after for 13, also run out. At 31 for 2 inside five overs, Hampshire needed someone to steady the innings.
Southby and Norgrove Build Hampshire’s Platform
Abi Norgrove provided the first recovery. The former England Under-19 captain contributed 64 off 85 balls, driving Hampshire’s innings past the 100-run mark before departing in the 32nd over. Francesca Sweet added 19 before falling to Georgia Davis, but it was Southby who anchored the middle overs and pushed Hampshire towards a competitive total.
Southby came in at number five and took control from the outset. She and Norgrove ran hard between the wickets, combining for 81 runs in their partnership and accumulating 78 singles between them across their respective innings. After Norgrove’s dismissal, Southby found an ideal partner in Amanda-Jade Wellington, who scored 42 off 41 balls at a strike rate of 102. Their seventh-wicket stand produced 74 runs and pushed Hampshire well past 240. Poppy Tulloch added an unbeaten 12 at the close. Southby finished 90 not out off 91 balls, hitting seven fours and ending just short of what would have been her maiden List A century.
Warwickshire Lose Early Wickets and Never Recover
Chasing 266 in 50 overs, Warwickshire lost three wickets inside the first ten overs. Bex Tyson removed Amu Surenkumar and Sophie Beech in quick succession, while Adams claimed the wicket of Davina Perrin, who had only returned from a seven-week hamstring injury layoff. At 40 for 3, Warwickshire were under immediate pressure.

Georgia Redmayne and Abigail Freeborn steadied the innings with an 88-run fourth-wicket partnership. Redmayne scored 53 off 69 balls for her first List A half-century for the Bears, and Freeborn reached 54 off 78 balls. The pair kept Warwickshire in the contest through the middle overs, but once both fell, the lower order collapsed. Warwickshire lost their last six wickets for 52 runs and were bowled out for 194 in the 42nd over.
Hampshire Stay in Contention for the One-Day Cup Title
Georgia Adams led the Hampshire bowling attack with 3 for 30 from eight overs. Wellington took 2 for 38 in ten overs, while Tyson and Tulloch each claimed two wickets. The spinners dominated the second half of the Warwickshire innings and prevented any late recovery.
The result moved Hampshire to eight wins from 11 matches in the competition. They remain four points behind leaders The Blaze, with the bonus-point win keeping the gap from widening further. Hampshire earned five competition points from the match while Warwickshire received none.
