Although Sindhu’s loss was disappointing, India’s men’s singles players lifted spirits with strong performances.
HS Prannoy produced a commanding win over China’s Lu Guang Zu. Playing with sharp focus, Prannoy sealed the match in straight games 21-17, 21-14 in just 44 minutes. His victory was one of the highlights of Day 2 at the Hongkong Open Badminton.

Lakshya Sen, meanwhile, offered more excitement. His game lasted three sets versus Wang Zhi Yi of Taiwan. Sen won the opening game 22–20, lost the second 16–21, then recovered to win 21–15 in the final. He is regarded as one of India’s most promising shuttlers, and he has continually shown why.
Kiran George added to the success story by defeating Singapore’s Jia Heng Jason Teh 21-16, 21-11. Ayush Shetty’s comeback wins over Chinese Taipei’s Su Li Yang (15-21, 21-19, and 21-13) showed his maturity. With these victories, India’s position at the Hong Kong Open badminton tournament improved.
