Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam singles title winner, is eyeing a remarkable milestone—his 100th career title. His historic record is not limited to this; he successfully surpassed Roger Federer, becoming the oldest ATP Masters 1000 semi-finalist since 1990.

After beating Grigor Dimitrov on Friday, he reached the Miami Open final, where he will face Czech Jakub Mensik on March 31.

Dominant Semi-Final Victory Over Grigor Dimitrov

In the one-sided semifinals on Friday, Djokovic handed Dimitrov an embarrassing defeat with a 6-2 and 6-3 score, reaching the final of the Miami Open. Novak started the game a bit slow and was not able to catch up to Dimitrov’s pace, but later, he settled in with his rhythm and played exceptionally.

With Lionel Messi and Venus Williams in attendance, the fourth seed was dominant throughout the game, where he made only five unforced errors (four off his backhand and one double fault) in the entire 70-minute match.

The match was later interrupted for a while when one of the hecklers from the attendance distracted Dimitrov and was ejected from Hard Rock Stadium. Dimitrov was out of answers throughout the match as Djokovic was putting a seven-game run from 2-2 from the very first set and extended his head-to-head against Dimitrov to 13-1.

His focus and dedication to the game were evident during the one hour and 10 minutes of the match, during which he didn’t miss a first serve for 40 minutes straight.

Following the victory, Djokovic told Prakash Amitraj on Tennis Channel, “I surprised myself, pleasantly … in these tricky conditions, very windy, not consistent wind changing all the time, not easy to toss the ball, not easy to find your rhythm from the back of the court. I was playing all the right shots, making him play an extra shot … overall, another great straight-sets win to put myself in a fantastic position to fight for a trophy in two days.”

The Road to 100 Titles: Djokovic’s Legacy

Novak Djokovic is on the run for his 100th title win in Miami. But it’s interesting to see how he got up here, as technically he has won 99 single titles and one double trophy. The recent player to win the 100th title across his career was a legend, Roger Federer.

Djokovic has been blessed to play for over twenty years on five different continents, winning significant titles from the Dutch Open to 24 Grand Slams and a gold medal in the Olympics.

He started his victory from Amersfoort at the Dutch Open in July 2006, which led him to dominate the sport by winning 46 singles titles in Europe only. Counting his titles by the region he has won:
