With an impressive 4–1 victory at Arkadag Stadium, Al Hussein SC continued their magnificent start to the AFC League 2 2025/26 away campaign intact on Tuesday. The first-half class of the Jordanian side allowed them to dominate the match from kick-off to the final whistle, as they remained atop Group C.

Match Highlights: Ahal FC vs Al Hussein

The action in Arkadag Stadium was thrilling, even with a rugged surface, as Ahal FC faced Al Hussein in a match where both teams broke out in a brave battle for each ball at the start of the match. It was the ‘visitors” who scored first in the 15th minute, when Odeh Fakhoury’s cross from the left side was expertly headed in the way of Ahmed Bani by Sisa, allowing Bani to hit the ball inside, similar to a side foot. The goal gave confidence to the Jordanian team and assured everyone they were there to play. Just 6 minutes or so passed before Ahal responded, when they were awarded a penalty in the 21st minute after Elman Tagayev was fouled in the area after a hard tackle with Latyr Fall. Tagayev himself stepped up and sent Al Hussein’s keeper, Yazeed Abulail, the wrong way from his kick just inside the 18. The equalizer shifted the momentum briefly, but Al Hussein soon regained control of the match.

In the 33rd minute, the Jordanian team took the lead again after a defensive mistake, as Luis Kacorri was quickest to the ball to finish the rebound off a free kick by Sisa and put his team ahead. Bani added one more in the 38th minute, steering in a low cross to make it 3-1. Finally, Kacorri rounded out the first half scoring in stoppage time with a tap off a low cross by Adham Alquiraishi for a 4-1 lead at halftime over Ahal.

Second-Half Action

Although Al Hussein’s effectiveness in the opening half played a big part in the outcome. Ahal had many opportunities to reduce the margin in the second stanza. In the 49th minute, Suleyman Mirzoyev was played through one-on-one on goal by Nazar Tovakelov, who had a great save by Abulaila to keep the team ahead. Ahal had another chance in the 74th minute when Enver Annayev had a shot wide. Al Hussein managed the game well, showing calmness and discipline to ride the victory comfortably.

Tactical Analysis: First-Half Dominance

The initial goals scored by Al Hussein SC came from decisive attacking play and a high-pressure regime. Their accrued lead of four goals produced a psychological effect on the Jordanian side, who forced Ahal to chase the game. Al Hussein SC displayed their advantage in transitions, distance crossed, and set-play routines, taking advantage of Ahal’s mistakes. Al Hussein’s ability to finish early demonstrated a strategy that required practice and has been their trademark in the AFC League 2 for this season.

Player Spotlight

  • Ahmed Bani (Al Hussein SC) – Scored a goal in the first half with great movement in the box and finishing quality.
  • Luis Kacorri (Al Hussein SC) – Scored two goals, and he used his positioning and quickness to recognize possible rebounds and crosses that led to goals.
  • Latyr Fall (Al Hussein SC) – Goal in the 38th minute. He played a major role in increasing Al Hussein’s performance in Group C of the AFC League 2.
  • Sisa (Al Hussein SC) – Created key assists, including a backheel assist to Bani, and also was key in Kacorri’s rebound goal.
  • Adham Alquiraishi (Al Hussein SC) – Cross led to Kacorri’s game-winner in stoppage time.
  • Yazeed Abulaila (Al Hussein SC, GK) – Made saves in the second half, preventing Ahal from closing the gap while Al Hussein SC continued to control the match.

The Current Standing of Group C

Al-Hussein scored six points after the first two matches and has two victories, putting them on top of Group C with five goals for and one goal against. Right behind Al-Hussein are Ahal FC and Sepahan FC, as an open competition to catch up in points continues.

The continuing Group C saga shows how crucial matches such as Ahal FC vs Al Hussein are in regard to qualification standings.

Conclusion

The performance of Al Hussein SC in the AFC League 2 demonstrated the importance of being effective in the first half. Their blend of tactical manipulation, individual excellence, and unrelenting pressure helped solidify a strong performance in the Ahal FC vs Al Hussein match and catalyzed their continued success in Group C. With their current top position, the Jordanian side is well advanced in the fight for a place in the knockout stages.

Amit Mishra’s take:

AFC League 2 Al Hussein SC proved again the efficiency of the first domination when it scored 4-1 against Ahal FC in the first half. They had already scored four goals before halftime, which was attributed to their skill in the precision of their attacks and strategies with their teammates. Midfielders such as Ahmed Bani and Luis Kacorri provided a touch of brilliance and effectiveness in going around the attacking third. Yazeed Abulaila was also able to save the Jordanian club at ease in the second half. The win also keeps Al Hussein SC on top of group C, although the future matches with Sepahan FC and Mohun Bagan SC are bound to give some excitement. Now the question is, will we still see Al Hussein SC maintain its momentum, or shall one of its rivals emerge and compete with the group Standard?
